7 TURKEY turkey s economic boom and strategic location at the crossroads between europe and asia have attracted a lot of attention in recent years and have catapulted the country to 17th place in the worldwide GdP rankings. No less remarkably, only five EU countries rank ahead of Turkey in the GDP stakes, and, at nine percent, Turkey s economic growth rate rivaled that of China in 2010 and Although Turkey s GDP growth has slowed slightly in recent times, leading economists expect the country to maintain its robust average growth of around five percent in the coming years.
