Parents/guardians shuld encurage students t adhere t the principles and expectatins set frth in said lessns. A Grdn Cunty Schls prvided cntent filter is in place, but parents and guardians shuld mnitr cntent and websites accessed at hme any time the student is using the ipad. There will be a ne-time ipad insurance fee f $25 per student as insurance against damages t the ipad. This fee applies nly t students chsing t take their device hme. (If assistance is needed, yu may fill ut a schlarship applicatin) While the ipad is cvered by a limited warranty, parents and guardians may be respnsible fr damages caused by negligence, abuse, r careless treatment f the device. Each student must adhere t the fllwing acceptable use agreement. Students 1. The student will take care f their assigned ipad and never leave it unattended. 2. The student will nt lend their ipad t ther individuals. 3. The student will make sure their ipad is charged and ready fr schl each day. 4. The student will keep the ipad away frm any fd r liquids. 5. The student will keep the ipad inside the prtective case at all times. 6. The student will nt attempt t disassemble r repair the ipad at any time; all repairs will g thrugh the technlgy department. 7. The student will nt place stickers r decals n the ipad r ipad case. 8. The student will nt search fr r access inapprpriate sites. 9. The student will nt view r transmit any racist, sexist, prngraphic, bscene, r threatening material. 10. The student will adhere t the principles f digital citizenship as presented by Grdn Cunty Schls. 11. The student will use their accunt, Apple ID, and netwrk lgin fr educatinal related activities nly. 12. The student will nly lgin t schl issued Apple IDs and accunts n their schl ipad. 13. The student will nt share their passwrds r lgin infrmatin with anyne. 14. The student will nt dwnlad any materials that are nt related t curse wrk. 15. Parents are t ensure that the ipad is used as an educatinal tl. 2. Parents will mnitr ipad use at hme t ensure the student is fllwing acceptable use guidelines. 3. Parents will ensure that the student keeps the ipad in clean wrking rder. 4. Parents will ensure that the student charges the ipad each evening and have it ready fr schl the fllwing day. 5. Ding s will vid the warranty, and yu will be respnsible fr 100 percent f the repair r replacement cst. The ipad must remain free f any writing, drawing, stickers, r labels that are nt the prperty f Grdn Cunty Schls. D nt remve r interfere with the serial number r any identificatin placed n the ipad. D nt d anything t the ipad r accessries that will permanently alter it in any way. Keep the ipad away frm water and extreme humidity. The ipad shuld nt be stred in heat abve 95 F r in cld temperatures belw 32 F. Carrying the ipad Screen Care Keep the equipment clean. Fr example, avid eating r drinking while using the ipad. D nt leave the ipad in any vehicle unattended. The ipad shuld nt be remved frm its schl prvided prtective case. When mving the ipad, be sure t hld it securely with bth hands. D nt place schl ipad in any bag with heavy items. The ipad screen can be easily damaged if prper care is nt taken. Screens are particularly sensitive t damage frm excessive pressure. The ipad shuld never be drpped, tssed, r stepped n. Clean the screen with a sft, dry clth. N cleaning fluids are necessary. D nt tuch the ipad screen with anything (e.g., pen, pencil, etc.) ther than apprved ipad screen cleaners and input devices. Never set any bject n the device. Battery Life and Charging Use care when inserting crds and cables int the ipad. Arrive t schl each day with a fully charged battery. Establish a rutine at hme whereby each evening yu leave the ipad charging vernight. 3

4 Avid using the charger in any situatin where yu, r anther persn, is likely t trip ver the crd. Try nt t let the battery cmpletely drain. Charge when the battery reaches 10% capacity. The ipad must remain n (awake r sleep mde) at schl at all times, with n exceptins. Clse any unused apps if yu d nt intend t use them again in the near future. Functins f the ipad Other Things When using any cmmunicatin apps, keep in mind that the ipad is mnitred by the cunty and cmmunicatin shuld be limited t items pertinent t the educatinal prcess. (D nt use the imessage, app, etc. fr persnal cmmunicatin.) Why isn t my ipad cnnected t Wi-Fi? T cnnect t any Wi-Fi netwrk pen the settings app. Select the Wi-Fi ptin n the left pane and then tap n the netwrk yu wish t jin. A specific app I am using has stalled r lcked up, what d I d? Open the app manager by either duble clicking the hme buttn r sliding up n the ipad screen with fur fingers. Clse the stalled app by swiping up with ne finger, then press the hme buttn and restart the app. What d I d if my ipad has cmpletely stalled r is frzen and the app manager will nt pull up?
