1 Happy Spring! President s Message Planning for Trollhaugen 2018 is well underway! Our theme this year is Norsk Mythology, a very popular theme. Our deadline for camp applications is May 30, 2018, send you applications soon. Here are some highlights from our February 4, 2018 meeting: If you are in Edmonton, please stop by the Old Strathcona Market and say hi to our Trollhaugen representatives on April 28, This year in the Butikk we will have hoodies and children s t-shirts. Our culture and family time has changed. Monday we will meet at 5:15 pm to declare DVM as Norway. Wednesday we will meet at 4:45 in the Wagner Auditorium for a memorial service. Thursday we will meet at 4:45 in the Wagner Auditorium for our annual talent show, brush up on your talents! All other days we will meet at 5:45 pm in the dining hall for announcements with supper at 6pm. We will be having family time activities following the same procedure as last year during family time. We will be having the slip and slide during sports class and family time, the day will be determined at camp depending on the weather, don t forget your bathing suits. We will be offering the Trollhaugen Youth Development Award again this year with a minor change, parents will be required to pay the $25 registration fee. Our Leadership program will be teaming up with DVM as a pilot project to incorporate team building. If you are interested in developing a skill with the intention to teach it at camp, please contact us as there are funds available to pay for the registration fees. Our chore booklet will look different this year, we will no longer be doing dishes! I bet some of you are sad, but we will still be stacking chairs, clearing the tables and washing them. We have a new price category for campers. If you are 70 years of age, have attended camp for 15 collective years your fee would be $145, the cost of food. If you wish to join a class with a project a fee of $15 per class would be charged at camp. Please note our next General Meeting is June 24, 2018 at Aspelund Lodge in Red Deer. I look forward to seeing you all at camp! Katrina

Trollhaugen Registration It is that time of year again, time to start thinking about camp 2018! There are a few changes to the forms this year, the biggest ones being our new Seniors Fee and some pre-set classes for E and Adults. Forms have already been sent out by , but can also be accessed on our website The new Seniors fee is for those who have collectively attended camp for 15 years and 70 years of age or older are eligible to attend camp for a discounted fee of $ EXCLUDING classes. There is an additional fee of $15 per class per person. Please be sure to mark it on the Application form is you choose to utilize our new Seniors Fee. This year to allow those who plan camp year-round the membership has voted to use a pre-set schedule. This means that for E and Adults you will not number the class choices, but you will select between the classes that are in the same time slot. You will see this change on the application form and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. If you choose to use the fillable forms please be sure that you SAVE the form with your first and last name. IE. Megan Hansen Application, Megan Hansen Health and waiver, etc. If you do not do this there is a chance that I will receive a blank form and will require you to re-fill it out and send it again. If you prefer to print the form and mail it or scan it back to me you are able to do that as well. Deadline to have your forms in is MAY 30, If you have any questions about any of the forms please be sure to me and I will get back to you ASAP. *please note that E-transfers are not available at this time. 4 Consignees wanted for the Butikk at Camp The Butikk is an important part of the camp. Therefore we are hoping the many talented people that attend the camp will show case their talents and products and at the same time contribute to the camp through consignment sales while making a bit of profit for themselves. If you do not craft, but have gently used items such as Scandinavian cookbooks, a Norwegian sweater that no longer fits, or the bunads that your children have out grown etc. and would like to sell these items please bring them in. They must be close to new. (We hold the option to refuse any item). Here is how it works: 1. The Butikk will charge a 25% consignment fee of the selling price of the consigned item. 2. HERE IS THE FORMULA TO USE If you have a consigned item that you would like to have $10 back in your pocket once it is sold, then the formula to use would be $ %. The final selling amount then becomes $ That price subtract 25% for the Butikk is $ % = $10.00 for you and $3.35 for the Butikk. Please do not add just 25% to the total. 3. The items or products preferred would be with a Norwegian origin or connection, or at least a Scandinavian connection. 5. The consignee must present to the Butikk a list of the items with the price (including the butikk share) and each item clearly tagged with the selling price. The tag will be marked with C for consignment and have the sellers initials marked on the tag, tags must be secure. 7. At the end of camp the consignee will take back their unsold items. The Butikk will not store items over the winter. The Butikk is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. You do not have to be a camper to consign items but will be responsible for drop off and pick up. Please complete the following registration and return to: Charlotte Evjen Please return as soon as possible, so I have an idea of the number of suppliers and the variety of goods. Application to consign at Trollhaugen s Butikk Consignee Company Ph. # Type of product: All items must be clearly and securely labeled with C for consignment as well as your initials and a price tag including the 25% consignment fee for the Butikk. Items not properly labelled or brought without inventory list will be refused, until they meet the above criteria. Items are to be dropped off no later than Monday evening. An electronic inventory, ed to charsfabricart@gmail no later than the Saturday before camp would be greatly appreciated, but not mandatory. I look forward to a very successful year. Thank you
