2 ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT POLICY Casuarina Swimming Club Inc. RATIONALE This plicy prvides the basis fr a balanced and respnsible apprach t the use f alchl at Casuarina Swimming Club Inc events and activities. This plicy will help t ensure the club: Meets its duty f care in relatin t the health and safety f ur members and guests wh attend ur club functins. Uphlds the reputatin f the club, ur spnsrs and partners. Understand the risks assciated with alchl misuse and ur rle in minimising this risk. While Casuarina Swimming Club Inc des nt sell alchl we acknwledge that alchl may be cnsumed at club related events and activities including meetings, after training r matches, end f seasn/presentatin functins, spnsrs functins, trivia nights and ther fundraising events. Accrdingly, the fllwing requirements will apply t all players, caches, fficials, members, cmmittee members, club visitrs, club facilities, club functins and ther activities undertaken by the club where alchl is cnsumed. GENERAL PRINCIPLES A risk management apprach will be taken in planning events/activities invlving the supply r cnsumptin f alchl. Such events will be cnducted and managed in a manner cnsistent with liqur licensing legislatin and this plicy. A liqur license will be required at any event where alchl is t be sld.

3 Alchl misuse can lead t unsafe r unacceptable sexual and/r vilent behaviur, drink-driving and ther alchl-related harm. Excessive cnsumptin f alchl will nt be an excuse t unacceptable behaviur, particularly behaviur that endangers thers r breaches the law, this plicy r any ther plicy f the club. COMMITTEE MEMBERS, MEMBERS, PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS Must nt cmpete, train, cach r fficiate if affected by alchl. Must nt prvide, encurage r allw peple aged under 18 t cnsume alchl. Must nt participate in r encurage excessive r rapid cnsumptin f alchl (including drinking cmpetitins). Must nt pressure anyne t drink alchlic beverages. Must nt pst images n scial media f themselves r thers drinking alchl at club-related activities. Must accept respnsibility fr wn behaviur and take a respnsible apprach and use gd judgment when alchl is available. FUNCTIONS The club will arrange with functin venue staff that: Intxicated peple are nt permitted t enter the premises. Alchl will nt be served t any persn wh is intxicated. Intxicated peple will be asked t leave the premises (after apprpriate safe transprt ptins are ffered). Alchl will nt be served t persns aged under 18. Tap water is prvided free f charge. At least fur nn-alchlic drinks and ne lw-alchlic drink ptin is always available and are at least 10% cheaper than full strength drinks. Substantial fd (e.g. mre than nuts, chips and similar snacks) is available whenever alchl is cnsumed. Where pssible, alchl will cease being served at least an hur befre the designated time fr clse f the functin. Nn-alchlic beverages will be made available at this time.

4 The club will nt: Cnduct functins where the caterer/venue requires a minimum amunt f liqur sales r the liqur prvider is paid by a percentage f sales Cnduct all yu can drink functins Prvide alchl-nly drink vuchers fr functins Include alchl in the price f tickets (r will limit free drinks t a maximum f tw). Advertisements fr functins will: Nt veremphasise the availability f alchl r refer t the amunt f alchl available Nt encurage rapid drinking r excessive drinking Give equal reference t the availability f nn-alchlic drinks Display a clear start and finish time fr the functin. Safe Transprt The club recgnises that driving under the influence f alchl r drugs is illegal and hazardus t individuals and the wider cmmunity. Accrdingly, the club implements a Safe Transprt Plicy that is reviewed regularly in cnjunctin with this Alchl Management Plicy. We ask that all attendees at ur functins plan their transprt requirements t ensure they arrive hme safely and prevent driving under the influence f alchl r drugs. Club Trips The club will mnitr and ensure any club trips strictly adhere t respnsible behaviur and alchl cnsumptin in accrdance with the principles f this plicy and the aims f the club. The club will nt actively prmte r fundraise fr player s end f seasn trips, thereby minimising the club s risk and liability if an alchl-related incident ccurs. Awards/Prizes The club will avid prviding awards (e.g. at end f seasn presentatins) and fundraising prizes that have an emphasis n/use alchl as a reward.

5 Plicy and Respnsible Use f Alchl Prmtin The club will prmte the alchl management plicy regularly: By putting a cpy f the plicy n the website and in member/player infrmatin In club newsletters and flyers/invitatins fr functins Via scial media Thrugh peridic annuncements t members at functins. The club will educate club members and supprters abut the alchl plicy and the benefits f having such a plicy. The club will actively demnstrate its attitude relating t the respnsible use f alchl. The club will nt advertise, prmte r have alchl served r cnsumed at junir events r activities. The club will pursue nn-alchl spnsrship and revenue surces. The club will actively participate in the Australian Drug Fundatin s Gd Sprts prgram with an nging pririty t maintain Level 3 accreditatin Nn Cmpliance All club cmmittee members will enfrce the alchl management plicy and any nn-cmpliance will be handled accrding t the fllwing prcess: Explanatin f the plicy t the persn/peple cncerned, including identificatin f the sectin f plicy nt being cmplied with Cntinued nn-cmpliance with the plicy shuld be handled by at least tw cmmittee members wh will use their discretin as t the actin taken, which may include asking the persn/ peple t leave the facilities r functin.

6 Cmmittee Plicy Management The presence f cmmittee members is essential t ensure cmpliance with this plicy. At least tw members wh are RSA trained are required t be present at all club functins when alchl is being served. Key respnsibilities f the duty cmmittee members are t: Meet visiting plice, cperate and assist with any inquiries Ensure cmpliance in respect f persns under 18 years f age n premises Ensure cmpliance with all sectins f this plicy in accrdance with legal requirements and the Gd Sprts prgram. POLICY REVIEW This plicy will be reviewed annually t ensure it remains relevant t club peratins and reflects bth cmmunity expectatins and legal requirements.
