2 CHROME 2030 The future of galvanised plastics in the automotive industry Latest authorisation status Experience of alternative chromium conditioning and plating systems Status reports, progress results and technology comparisons! The discussion regarding Chrome 2030: the future of galvanised plastic parts in the automotive industry initiated by Fachverband Galvanisierte Kunststoffe e.v. (FGK) in recent years is set to continue on Tuesday 13 November 2018 at Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart Airport. The event will provide information about the status of authorisations already granted. The current recommendation is for a 12-year authorisation period, resulting in new opportunities for action by FGK Members. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will table another topic that is important for galvanised plastics, namely nickel leaching The USCAR study in the United States has been further developed and provides an interesting insight into how chrome is handled outside the EU. There will also be exclusive reports about the development status of alternative chromium conditioning and plating systems and an evaluation of alternative processes. Finally, the event will showcase the application status of trivalent chromium plating in the European automotive market. In addition to the presentations, which will be simultaneously translated into English if required, representatives of the German plating on plastics industry and decision-makers from the supplier sector will also be on hand to answer questions. Target audience Car manufacturers, automotive suppliers, process suppliers, surface coaters, designers, engineers and market stakeholders
