2 Why you should be there The Division of Occupational Psychology Annual Conference is the largest annual gathering of occupational psychologists in the UK and provides a major showcase for academics and practitioners to present their latest research. Through attending the conference you will have face-to-face access to over 400 delegates from a diverse range of backgrounds. Through sponsoring the conference you get recognition on the conference website, in OP Matters, distributed to 4000 members of the Division of Occupational Psychology and in conference promotions in The Psychologist the monthly BPS magazine distributed to over 38,000 BPS members. Who attends the DOP Conference? Over 170 organisations were represented at the 2014 DOP Annual Conference, including a number of academic institutions (UK and international), well-known occupational psychology consultancies and independent consultants, as well as major employers of occupational psychologists (in both the public and private sector). 3 Vision Our vision for the DOP Annual Conference is to be the conference of choice for all psychologists focusing on the world of work. We see the conference as providing an opportunity for these professionals to obtain insight into current ideas, discussions and research in the area, and network with others in the field. About the DOP Conference The conference theme for 2015 is Learning, Sharing, Impacting. The conference is an engine for positive change within our profession, welcoming view, ideas and discussions around the future of research, our profession, organisations, and employees. The conference actively promotes networking and will assist in establishing a network of occupational psychologists who will constitute the next generation of academics and practitioners and the future of the field. The team is working hard to provide an even more rewarding conference experience for all delegates. DOP 2015 is built around three themes and six strands profession. The three themes are: 1. Learning: Both through lectures and a specially commissioned series of practical skillsfocused workshops. 2. Sharing: Promoting dialogue both between research and practice and between the different branches of psychology that have expertise relevant to working lives. 3. Impacting: A focus on developing the reputation of our profession, and making a real difference to people s lives and the communities in which they work. For the 2015 conference we will be inviting other BPS divisions as part of a unifying approach to psychology at work. This offers a unique opportunity for exhibitors to access potential new clients they may not previously may not previously have been able to reach. Impact of the event The conference will give you an opportunity to meet with academics, researchers, practitioners and postgraduates of psychology with particular interest in application of psychology to the workplace. The lecture programme includes internationally renouned keynote speakers. Additionally, there will be a mix of workshops, symposia, individual papers and posters presented, plus social activities and networking opportunities. The event will also be publicised on the Society website and in The Psychologist, the monthly publication sent to all members of the society.
