2 COURSE DIRECTORS COURSE OVERVIEW Adrian Hyde CVR Global LLP Garfield Smith Garfield Smith Solicitors Ltd The issues that social media create are becoming more and more of a normal part of any insolvency assignment. This practical new course will focus on how to deal with the issues when working a case, discuss what your rights and obligations are and give a view of all of the stakeholders in the process and how it affects them. Topics covered include investigations, dealing with directors and creditors, dealing with employees using social media accounts, both corporate and personal, and also looking at how social media can infl uence a case, the media and the insolvency practitioner involved. This will be a really interesting course that will not only provide you with hints and tips but make you think twice about your own online profi le! We are also delighted that Dr Stephen Hill will be presenting a session on internet investigations and how everyone has an online presence and can be found and tracked, quite a scary realisation. Who is this course aimed at? This half day course is aimed at anyone with an interest in the particular topic area and those who want to broaden their knowledge of social media issues within insolvency. Delegates of all ranges are recommended to attend. SPEAKERS > Adrian Hyde is a partner at CVR, following the merger of Chantrey Vellacott and Moore Stephens. The bulk of Adrian s work is largely contentious insolvency, international, and fraud related cases. He regularly works with government agencies both here and abroad, and for corporates that have suffered losses from the actions of directors, employees, customers and suppliers. A good example of his experience is his appointment following the collapse the Gibraltar Law fi rm Marrache & Co. Since 2010 he has been liquidator and trustee of the estates of the Marrache brothers in Gibraltar. > Dr Stephen Hill is the director of data and intelligence at investigation fi rm Absolute Partnership specialising in online investigations, cybercrime and data security. He has over 16 years experience in providing training and consultancy to the private and public sector including regulatory bodies in the UK and Europe. He is also a trustee director of the ICAEW Fraud Advisory Panel and chairs the Cybercrime Working Group. > Garfield Smith is the founder and managing director of Garfi eld Smith Technology and Data Lawyers, one of Europe s leading information technology, communications, data and content law fi rms. Garfi eld has over twenty years experience advising clients from a variety of different industry sectors on technology related matters. > Michelle Daniels is a former marketing director and advises The Results Consultancy s clients on how to use social media to strengthen business relationships and build positive professional reputations. She advises on, and gives handson support with, the strategies and activities that raise a fi rm or feeearner s profi le in a chosen market. > Pauline Rawsterne is a PR professional specialising in fi nancial PR, such as banking, private equity, venture capital, fi ntech, alternative fi nance, corporate fi nance, mergers and acquisitions and insolvency. Pauline has been a director at Turquoise PR since 2006, an independent PR and content marketing agency serving the fi nancial and business to business sectors, based in Manchester.

Specifi cally, the session will address the risk and liabilities that may arise from social media when an IP takes over management of a business and how those risks and liabilities may be lawfully minimised and managed by the IP. Garfield Smith, Garfi eld Smith Technology and Data Lawyers The use of social media as a research tool an in depth look into the use of social media as an investigation tool One of the UK s foremost speakers explains how IPs can use social media and the internet to their benefi t in insolvency cases; what exactly does the bankrupt say to his friends where is he? What is he doing? Whose house is it that he is photographed in front of month after month? Social media contains a huge amount of information about people, places and activities and the session will help you to get the most out of this information to maximise the assets in an estate, be they estate assets in a bankruptcy, or potential assets to be recovered when pursuing a misfeasant director.
