3 1.0 Introduction to Demand-Driven Acquisition (DDA) DDA allows libraries to automatically purchase titles when patron demand meets preset thresholds (for example, when a specific number of holds is placed on a digital title). In this way, libraries can get all the newest releases, satisfy their special-collection needs, and use curated plans to deliver must-have titles to patrons. With DDA, libraries can also set monthly spending caps. DDA saves time, builds value, and focuses collection development with curated plans that fit libraries productselection needs and budget requirements. DDA includes Curated carts and auto-order plans based on collection-development criteria Plans that allow libraries to specify ordering frequency to ease collection-development decisions Price limits and monthly spending caps Order confirmations sent on predetermined schedules Auto-orders that go directly to fulfillment Non-auto-order identification that labels carts as being generated by a DDA plan 2
