FACEBOOK BASICS Facebook is the most-widely used of the major social media platforms, and its user base is most broadly representative of the population as a whole. The two post a day rule might not work for your church Post only when you have something meaningful and interesting to share Best days to post are Thursday and Friday Best time to post is between 1:00 pm-3:00 pm Worst time to post is early morning or late at night

INSTAGRAM BASICS While Instagram may not have achieved the audience Facebook has, studies on social media dependency show users are spending a lot of time of this platform. The best posting frequency for Instagram is the posting frequency that you can consistently maintain. Instagram engagement stays consistent throughout the week so there is not bad day to post, but there is a slight spike on Mondays. Post during off work hours. Much research promotes posting between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm

#HASHTAGS Originally started on Twitter by Chris Messina, hashtags were a way to filter and sort through the massiveness of messages found on Twitter. Click the hashtag to see all tweets from people on that topic. You could find and follow all sorts of new people this way.

SHOULD I USE THEM? When it comes to Facebook, the platform itself doesn t lend itself to the notion and practice of hashtags. Hashtags don t have a positive impact on a brand s engagement levels on Facebook. Hashtags have the potential to be truly valuable on Instagram. A hashtag will make your content viewable by anyone with an interest in your hashtag, regardless of whether they re part of your church or not. Hashtags could be your best bet for growing a fast following on Instagram

INSTAGRAM HASHTAG GUIDE Hashtags increase engagement on Instagram. Here s how to best to use the. There is a 30 hashtag limit set by Instagram. If you use more than 30 they will not work. Instagram suggests 3 hashtags maximum but 3-7 is probably a good number to stick with. Keep your hashtags relevant to your post. Capitalize on trending tags. Check out your hashtags before using.

CONTENT More than ever before, social media users want to see brands posting visual content. Always have a call to action. That call to action tells your followers exactly what you want them to do. Tailor your message for the platform. Keep your message short and sweet.
