1 2018 JLPT Test Site Information Portland, OR Test Date: Sunday, December 2, 2018 Test Location: Portland State University N1/N4: Broadway Residence Hall(625 SW Jackson Street, Portland, Oregon 97201) N2/N3: Cramer Hall (1721 SW Broadway, Portland, Oregon 97201) N5: Stephen Epler Residence (SEH) Hall (1136 SW Montgomery, Portland, Oregon 97201) Reporting Time and Test Schedule: Please arrive at 2 nd floor of the Broadway Residence Hall (BRDW) for N1 and N4 levels, and 4 th floor of the Cramer Hall (CH) for N2, 3 rd floor of the Cramer Hall (CH) for N4, and 1 st floor of Stephen Epler Hall for N5 levels during the scheduled reporting time. N2 candidate with special accommodation will check into 106 of Stephen Epler Hall (SEH), N3 candidate with special accommodation will check into 103 of Stephen Epler Hall (SEH). You will be directed to your assigned classroom, where you will have to show your admission voucher (print out) and proper photo identification in order to be allowed into the classroom. Since the test takes place during winter, when severe weather could affect roads and public transportation, please make sure you allow for extra time to reach the test site as well as to return home. Your admission voucher. 2. A valid form of photo ID. Copies are not accepted. Acceptable forms of official identification include driver s license, passport, or student ID. Social security cards, credit or ATM cards, and retail credit cards are not acceptable. 2

3 The name on your voucher must match the name on your official ID that you bring to the test center. It is your responsibility to ensure that your official ID is valid and available on the day of the test. ID checks are strictly enforced. If you arrive at the test center without a valid ID, you will not be permitted to take the test and you will be considered absent. 3. Several sharpened No. 2 or HB pencils and an eraser for multiple-choice answer sheets. Pencils and erasers will not be supplied at the test center. 4. An analog watch (We do not provide a clock in the classroom). Do NOT bring a watch that beeps. Digital watches are not allowed and you cannot use your cell phone as a timepiece. Prohibited Materials: Do Not Bring the Following Items to the Test Site. 1. Electronic devices and media such as PDAs, pagers, computers, recording devices, etc. 2. A watch that beeps or has an alarm. 3. Handwritten or printed materials. 4. Food or drinks, except water in a clear bottle with no label and with a secure lid. The water bottle must be stored in your bag under your seat, not on your desk, during the test. 5. Cell phones: All cell phones must be completely turned off and stored away during the test. If your phone makes any noise for whatever reason, including incoming calls, vibrate mode, accidents, etc., we will void your test score and you will not receive a score for the test. Note: If you are traveling from afar and have any prohibited items or a travel bag with you, you must leave your belongings with a proctor at your designated classroom during the test. Your personal bag should be kept under your seat and should not block any walkways. General Testing Guidelines: Dress so that you can adapt to any room temperature. Guests who accompany you to the test site are not allowed in the classroom. You are not allowed to leave the test room until a proctor dismisses you. If you get sick during the test and must leave the room, you must notify the proctor so that the proctor can accompany you out of the room. 3

The PSU campus is a hub of bus, lightrail, and streetcar lines that get you here from any part of the city. For more information check TriMet Bus s link: Parking: Parking around PSU can be tricky even on Sunday. We recommend you find a parking place where you can park for half a day without worrying about having to fill the meter. University s Parking Structure. There are three parking structures at the university, Parking Structure 1, 2, and 3, and they are indicated as PS1 (1872 SW Broadway), PS2 (1724 SW Broadway), and PS3 (1631 SW 12th Avenue). Parking permit is required most of the levels, and very limited space for hourly metered parking in those structures is available. For more information, go to: Street parking is also available, but parking fees are required until 7pm on Sundays. Parking fees can be paid with changes and credit cards. Maximum hours vary from 1 hour to 5 hours around PSU, so make sure your street allows you to park for 5 hours. 4
