Content Delivery, Monetization & Tracking Platform Built on the Ethereum Blockchain Charles Adelman, Hunter Long, Steve Ono, Michelle Moeller, Christian Kameir AtlysCoin - Simplifying the complexities of global content distribution, monetization, and content lifecycle tracking. Atlys is dedicated to building out a global mapping system for all formats of content, while incentivizing content and channel creators to become part of a larger global community. The AtlysCoin allows consumers and fans a decentralized mechanism to purchase content directly from content creators, while creating a path for studios, labels and creators to license their libraries into an ever evolving marketplace. The AtlysCoin, through the Ethereum Blockchain, ties together function-based ERC20 smart contracts that create a cohesive content delivery, instant transaction and rights/attribute tracking ecosystem. The AtlysCoin token also creates additional revenue downstreams based on both market value for the content and the market value for the associated tokens, while giving full control over the monetization and lifecycle of video and audio content. 3 1 Filling the Void Content Creators are constantly battling the classic Middle Man problem for distribution. In the past, there has been no single-solution that ties together every aspect of the distribution lifecycle, while giving the creators true direct access to, and control of, their audience. The AtlysCoin, via blockchain, is destined to solve this problem. When a movie, song or other rich content is created, there are multiple stakeholders invested in the creation and evolution of that content. The path to track the market value, residuals, payouts, compliance status, and other performance indicators associated with content is laden with difficulties. Tracking even the metadata associated with content distribution is incredibly burdensome, confusing, and costly. The AtlysCoin aims to fill this massive void by simplifying and streamlining the distribution and monetization of content by removing the existing obstacles and allowing stakeholders to fully and finally realize the potential of their content. The AtlysCoin accomplishes this critical objective by utilizing the AtlysCoin DApps (Decentralized Application) system, which supports the AtlysCoin. The AtlysCoin DApps system handles the transactional contract between the distribution process and the consumer, and creates the downstream tracking of the entire lifecycle for each piece of content. In the world of physical-goods (e.g., compact discs, BluRays, etc.), the consumer purchases and may resell physical product at a future date. Now, with the recent advancement in blockchain technology and the accelerated worldwide adoption of cryptocurrency, the consumer also has the ability to buy and resell digital content. 2

2 Atlys Media Content Blockchain The AtlysCoin DApps system uses the Ethereum blockchain to store media content. Using Electron, Web3, and Web Torrents, the client side will be able to view content within the blockchain with a geth json rpc/ipc endpoint. The AtlysCoin DApps system itself is an Ethereum ERC20 token wallet, which enables it to hold 'ATLYS' coins, that have been assigned private keys given by the connecting rpc geth server. In this true Dapps application, the client app also has an array of json rpc endpoints in the unlikely case that one endpoint goes down or if the end user wishes to choose another geth server path. 3

3 Benefits of the AtlysCoin 3.1 Core Benefits The AtlysCoin establishes an approach that augments basic blockchain transactions. By creating a multi-tiered system that enables content creators, channels, consumers and developers to actively build and participate in a global content ecosystem. 4

3.2 AtlysCoin Benefits for the Content Creator Sell Direct The AtlysCoin enables Content Creators to sell and connect directly to their audience around the world Residual Revenue & Tracking The AtlysCoin makes residual payments automatic and simple. The AtlysCoin allows Content Creators and Artists to control and receive a percentage of downstream revenue created from the sale or license of their content, even beyond the original transaction Crowdsource Resources The AtlysCoin allows Content Creators to crowdsource resources to help create and distribute content Supply and Demand The AtlysCoin allows Content Creators to limit the amount of content they wish to release to create a supply-and-demand model. For example, if a musician wants to mint a limited edition digital album and only make 500 copies available, then these copies will be the only digital copies of that album in circulation. Over time, this digital asset could appreciate in value for the music it holds and the value of the AtlysCoin that is attached to it. In this scenario, an album s value would be equal to the sum of AtlysCoins used for each piece of content (i.e., each song) plus any additional price that the content creator places on the album. Album = 12 Songs x 1 AtlysCoin + Album Price (additional 8 AtlysCoins placed on that unique album grouping) = 12 x = 20 AtlysCoins 5

This Content Creator would charge 20 AtlysCoins for the album Copyright & Ownership The AtlysCoin will empower Content Creators and Artists to realize the full innate value of their content assets and to create global market value. This is because Atlys is focused on the entire lifecycle, residual chain, and future value of the content asset while other companies are only focused on using blockchain to track the content asset s copyright. As the AtlysCoin platform grows, and as the AtlysCoin is used in a wider scope of markets, the AtlysCoin platform will evolve to include associated AtlysCoin contracts for residual tracking, licensing payouts, methods for artists to crowd-source funding for their creative endeavors, and many more options to optimize development opportunities for Content Creators. 6

3.3 AtlysCoin Benefits for the Channel Creator Channel Creators might be labels, brands, studios, independent artists or other entity types. The Channel Creator defines their channel by a pre-set content type, genre or other method of grouping that that may choose Revenue from Content Sales The AtlysCoin allows Channel Creators to set and receive a percentage of the revenue generated from content sales within their channels Residual Revenue & Tracking The AtlysCoin allows Channel Creators to also choose to set a residual amount that they will earn each time a piece of content within their channel is resold from consumer to consumer Stored Crypto Value Each AtlysCoin that is connected to via contract, or minted against, a channel stays with that channel Channel Resale Value The AtlysCoin project enables Channel Creators to resell their channels and to establish the resale price-points of the channels being sold Branding The AtlysCoin project allows Channel Creators to use channels as a branding mechanism for record labels, corporate brands, nonprofits or other types of groups that need to aggregate and sell content. 7

3.4 AtlysCoin Benefits for the Consumer Resell Content The AtlysCoin allows Consumers to resell their purchased content at any time Dual Value The AtlysCoin creates value for purchased content and also creates long-term value of that content as the value of the AtlysCoin rises based on the crypto-currency market and supply-and-demand Invest in the Artists The AtlysCoin allows Consumers to support their favorite artists by investing in those artists futures Digital Collectables The AtlysCoin allows Consumers to purchase limited edition content, which may become collectable and will inherently grow in value Local Copy of Content The Atlys platform allows consumers to download purchased content. 8

3.5 AtlysCoin Benefits for the Developer Open Source The AtlysCoin DApps system is completely open source and welcomes the global community of developers to contribute to the GitHub repo Integration The AtlysCoin platform was developed to ultimately work through any 3rd party application as both a means to monetize content and a method to bind contracts to content Contracts As the AtlysCoin is globally adopted, developers around the world will be empowered to write their own associated contracts to submit to the AtlysCoin project. Their contributions will in turn assist in expanding the scope and impact of the AtlysCoin. 9

4 The Atlys Core The Atlys Core repo holding all Ethereum contracts relating to the Atlys Content Media Blockchain. By creating multiple contracts, with a single gateway, Atlys is creating upgradeable functionality while keeping the core contracts intact and related to the original piece of content. The Atlys Core contract is also the centralized contract that communicates with other contracts based on specific functionality/task. While end users will be able to read data associated to the contracts through the Atlys Core Contract, data is written on each individual contract. 10

4.1 AtlysCoin Core Contracts Gateway Contract The Gateway Contract is the centralized contract, which communicates with other contracts based on the specific functionality/task. The Atlys platform controls the routing and contract data Channel Contract The Channel Contract organizes all channels and is referenced by other related contracts. The Channel Contract maintains the percentage of revenue that is paid back to the channel from content sales and/or residual revenue from downstream licensing. Initial channel creation and cost will follow these rules: 1) The cost to create a channel, for the first twelve months following the AtlysCoin ICO (Initial Coin Offering), will be (1) ETH (Ethereum). 2) The community of channel owners will vote on the updated channel creation price on the first day following the twelve-month anniversary of the AtlysCoin ICO. The community will continue to vote annually on the following year s channel creation price on the day following the annual anniversary. 3) 100% of the ATYS (AtlysCoin), converted from ETH, at the creation of a channel will remain attached to that specific channel. 4) Each unique channel is entitled to one (1) vote Content Contract The Content Contract stores all content owned by each channel. Content creation and pricing will follow these rules: 1) Content will belong to a channel. If a channel for that content does not exist, or if a Channel Creator does not accept the content into their channel, then the Content Creator will create a channel, 2) AtlysCoin quantity will be added only when the content is created. Content limits (i.e., maximum number of copies of that piece of content) will be defined when content is created. 3) Content Creators will set their quantity field, which is a permanent value, when creating content. If a Content Creator wishes to add additional copies of that content, they will create a new version of that content within the Atlys platform. 11

All other Content Contract fields may be edited or changed after the initial content is created. 4) Content Creators will set their residual percentage when creating content (i.e., the amount that the Content Creator will receive when their content is resold or licensed after the initial transaction). 5) Additional permanent fields may be added as the Atlys project expands Purchase Contract The Purchase Contract stores and organizes records and has the ability to transfer content to consumers who purchase the content through the AtlysCoin platform. Each purchase is a single charge related to a single piece of content. The Purchase Contract allows consumers to resell/transfer the digital rights of their purchased content. Wallets can be used to purchase and own content from other consumers and/or Content Creators. Content purchases will follow these rules: 1) Purchaser will run purchasecontent from the Content Contract. 2) The Content Contract will call the Purchase Contract and will run token.chargeaddress to charge user the applicable number of ATLYS (AtlysCoin). 3) Purchaser will become the owner of the purchased content. 4) Only the current owner of the content can transfer content to a purchaser ERC20 Token Contract The ERC20 Token Contract is the standard token used to send, transfer, charge, and receive the AtlysCoin. This contract has the primary function of charging consumers wallets based on their purchase of content. This function will only work if the msg.sender is from an approved ip address. 4.2 Token Trader Contracts Exchange Contract In the future, the Exchange Contract will convert ETH->ATLYS, ATLYS->ETH, STRJ->ATLYS, ATLYS->STRJ and other service coins. The exchange will convert users AtlysCoin to other types of coins/tokens, such as Storj, to pay for additional 12

services such as bandwidth and storage fees. The Exchange Contract will be directly linked to the content purchase and will have an admin controlled conversion rate. Two multisignature wallets will be used for the Exchange to convert and hold other ERC20 tokens and ETH. These 2 wallets will be used for the Purchase Contract to centralize funding wallets Keys Contract The Keys Contract stores secret keys from the public blockchain for channels, contents, and users. The Keys Contract is private and the source code is encrypted while other types of AtlysCoin contracts are able to parse keys. 4.3 Future Contracts Through the ICO process, as well as the open source community involvement, Atlys plans on widening the scope of AtlysCoin contracts to include: Residual Payout & Tracking: This contract will enable intelligent residual tracking of associated payout contracts (i.e. ASCAP, BMI, points, participation, etc.). Group/Album Contract: This contract will enable the ability to group content together in meaningful ways. This contract will enable additional value to be set, on top of the content grouped together. Content Licensing: This contract will simplify the process of global content licensing for use in film, television, video games, AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), MR (Mixed Reality), live events, and many others. Content Exchange: This contract will be specific to the exchange of content assets between two or more parties. News Media Licensing: This contract will be specific to the creation and licensing of news content around the world. This contract will create the initial creation point of a specific piece of news media, as well as the downstream tracking of licensing of the media into any 3rd party platform or news organization. 4.4 Media Listener Nodejs server that watches for events in Ethereum contracts. This will allow for real-time exchanges between contracts being executed within the AtlysCoin platform. 13

5 The Process 5.1 The Content Lifecycle The content lifecycle begins when a Content Creator ingests/uploads their content source file into the AtlysCoin web-torrent. At this point, they choose the number of content copies that will be available and the specific version of that content. The AtlysCoin Core system then attaches all associated contracts. 14

5.2 The AtlysCoin Transaction and Minting Process After all contracts are attached, the content is then made available for purchase with the AtlysCoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Storj Tokens, or any other direct coin/token accepted by the AtlysCoin platform. At this point, additional AtlysCoin may be minted if the AtlysCoin reserve has been depleted. Otherwise, new AtlysCoins may only be minted when new content is added and/or a transaction has occurred through the AtlysCoin platform, which has been stipulated to protect the value of the AtlysCoin. The associated blockchain contract(s) then create unique instances of each piece of content, which allow for the associated content to have a percentage of minted coins permanently attached. 15

5.3 Inter-Consumer Resell/Exchange of Content Consumers will also be able to sell and/or exchange content through the AtlysCoin platform in the near future. Content Creators and Channels will also have the option to add a contract residual payout percentage associated with the resale of consumer owned content. 16

6 Use Cases Please find below a few initial uses of the AtlysCoin, although there will be many additional use cases of the AtlysCoin in the future: 17

7 Opportunity The global digital content market is growing rapidly. The market is expected to top US$549 billion by 2019, growing at a CAGR of percent over the forecast period. * * The overall value of the global digital content market will reach $154 billion annually by that's an increase of nearly 60 percent on 2014, according to the latest worldwide market study by Juniper Research.*** The AtlysCoin is poised to be the blockchain leader in direct content distribution and residual tracking. Whether it s downloadable content, streaming services or any other type of content experience, the AtlysCoin platform is expandable and able to adapt to the ever-changing global digital content landscape. ** source TechNavio Analysis *** source: hash.mccocipx.dpuf 18

8 CDN (Content Delivery Network) The AtlysCoin project uses several methods to deliver content throughout the blockchain: 8.1 Web Torrents True to the blockchain methodology, the AtlysCoin project provides direct peer-to-peer distribution and exchange of content, which allows decentralization of content, as well as a direct route for Content Creators to distribute their media assets. 8.2 Storj.io Storj is a blockchain-based, end-to-end encrypted, distributed object storage platform, where only the end user has access to their data. The AtlysCoin project intends to integrate with the Storj distribution protocol, and create a connected content delivery network where Content Creators will be able to upload and distribute content through Storj directly. Atlys also intends to work with Storj to accept Storj tokens directly into the AtlysCoin platform. 8.3 AtlysMMP (Media Management Platform) The current Atlys platform has partnered with Fiber.net to build out a custom integrated Content Delivery Platform, also known as AtlysMMP (Media Management Platform). To create a truly decentralized content delivery experience, Atlys has begun working with other groups, such as Storj.io, to provide the initial distribution and content server points which will allow Content Creators and owners to have the option of holding their content either in the cloud or locally. Ultimately the AtlysCoin platform will allow for Peer-to-Peer exchange of purchased content between Content Creators, consumers and between consumers. Once content is downloaded to the consumer, an aliased version tied to that unique Content Contract can also be held (for additional AtlysCoin or STORJ coins/tokens) within a blockchain storage mechanism, or within the AtlysMMP CDN. Only the content originally associated with the AtlysCoin contract will retain future asset value. 19

8.4 Content Authentication and Validation The Atlys Project community will help to validate any content distributed through the platform. The community, as a whole, will serve as the default administrators and work together to make sure that there is no unauthorized distribution of content. 20

10 Value of Channels & Content Against the AtlysCoin Cryptocurrency exists within a global market that is continually fluctuating, and as such, the value of the AtlysCoin is expected to change over time. Therefore, the following rules will apply to the purchase of content and/or channels within the AtlysCoin platform: 1) The price per piece of content is set by the Content Creators based on the current value of the USD. For example: a) If a Content Creator sells a piece of content for the equivalent of $(1) USD, the same value of AtlysCoins will be issued and paid out accordingly. b) If that piece of content is resold in the future, the value of that piece of content is based on the market value of that content as well as the market value of the associated AtlysCoins originally attached to that piece of content during the initial minting process. 11 Open Source The AtlysCoin platform has been built from the ground up as an open-source community project available via GitHub. In order to collectively harness and leverage the power and information of global contributors, the AtlysCoin platform will eventually be the defacto marketplace for content, and ultimately return power to the Content Creators and the public to form a unified consensus on what they are willing to pay for a piece of content. 21

13 History Atlys.io was founded with the core purpose of launching a dynamic broadcast channel, named Anthus, focused on health, wellness and social cause. WIthin the first 2 years of the company s build-out, the mission expanded to also include the creation of a content and delivery platform. As things progressed, clients began to approach the company with the request to use the platform to support their broadcasting and content delivery needs. Based on these requests, the company shifted its focus to software and began to build out the current Altys channel delivery system. In 2016, Atlys released version 2.0 of their channel delivery system, which brought a custom content design and app builder mode into the platform, which enabled Content Creators and brands to have deeper control over not just their content, but the entire end-user experience. To date, Atlys has raised substantial funding, which has allowed for the creation and monetization of the current Atlys.io platform, which includes the Atlys.TV system and the AdKinetix advertising system. 14 Potential Risks Even though Atlys is working to build a more durable intrinsic distribution and valuation system for content, there are many contributing factors, that although highly unlikely still remain potential risks, that may affect the viability and stability of the AtlysCoin and its application: 1) There could possibly be no consumers for the content creators that become a part of the AtlysCoin platform. 2) The AtlysCoin open-source community collapses and the tokens have no market or exchange value. 3) The AtlysCoin platform is not attractive, robust, or stable enough to attract large amounts of content creators or consumers. 22

Through this whitepaper, Terms & Conditions and the related coin offering, Atlys, Inc., and its subsidiaries, is by no means selling securities or equity in the company. The AtlysCoin open-source application is a community based project which is selling a service offering via the AtlysCoin and related AtlysCoin contracts via the Ethereum Blockchain. 15 Definitions Blockchain : a digital ledger in which transactions made in bitcoin or another cryptocurrency are recorded chronologically and publicly.
