You will get a chance to meet your Orientation Coordinators, and there may be a few surprises as well. This event will really help kick off the week! Join us on the Canal for a pizza lunch, a chance to win the Spirit Award and tons of free swag! Between finding out where your classes are, meeting your Fall Orientation group and learning all about university life, things can get a little crazy! Don t worry, we ve got you covered. Academic Orientation Day is designed to make sure that you know all the who s, where s and what s of your Faculty and Department here at Carleton. You ll receive a faculty specific t-shirt, get to meet your classmates and professors, and find out more about your degree. This is a fun day full of flavorful information so that you ll be able to start your program off on the right foot. So head over to Norm Fenn Gym and let s get started! RRRA Photo Wall Location: 2nd Floor Unicentre Landing Don t forget to stop by the RRRA Photo Wall to chat with your Executives and snap a picture. Karaoke Coffeehouse Location: Roosters (4th Floor Unicentre) Whether you are the next Canadian Idol or just like to sing in the shower, this event welcomes any level of musical talent! Location: Your Group s Designated Meeting Location 7:00am 5:00pm We will head out into various locations throughout Ottawa to raise money for Shinerama Students Fighting Cystic Fibrosis. Talk to your facilitators to find out more about this campus-wide initiative and to confirm your group s fundraising location. This event is a great way to give back to the Ottawa community, bond with your team and contribute to an amazing cause. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 6TH Headphone Disco Location: Olivers 9:00pm-12:00am Headphone Disco are the inventors of the silent dance party and have been touring the world! The DJs spin 2 different styles of music side by side over 2 different wireless channels. You can select which DJ you want to listen to using the switch on the headphones and then dance along to the music of your choice! On top of all that, the theme of the party is glow in the dark. They are an Juno Award winning and extremely popular Canadian band known for their hit singles Celebrity Status, Pop 101, and Beside You. While you are jamming to some amazing artists, we will also be announcing the Fall Orientation Spirit Awards to finish off this jam-packed, competitive and fun week! THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH Athletics Night Location: Athletics 8:00pm-11:00pm Come out to Athletics and see what amazing activities they have to offer! Here is a little taste of what they have in store: Pool Party: Come for a swim or just have a splash! BYOT (bring your own towel). Stop by Burrito Shack in the Glebe for a complimentary taco, swing by Lansdowne Park and pick up a famous bagel at Kettleman s before making your way downtown for Parliament s Northern Light Show and Inspiration Village at Byward Market. If you have purchased a ticket for Mont Cascades, you should have received an admission ticket and bracelet at registration. Shuttle Buses will be leaving from Parking Lot 7 starting at 9:45am, with last call to Mont Cascades at 2:00pm, so students can come and go as they please. There will be a bag check, and you will need your ticket and admission bracelet to get on the bus. Also, students are encouraged to pack a lunch or buy food onsite.
