1 Troop 692 Fundraising Information Pack 692 Popcorn Sales It is that time of year again.fundraising season! Different format this year for the information packet because I don t believe most of you read the large packet. I m going with highlights this year of the important information. Important Dates Sale Dates: Start of the sale: Friday, September 22 nd after 5:00pm. End of the sale: Sunday, October 29 th Payment for all sales is due by Friday, October 27 th unless you make other arrangements ahead of time. Troop Wreaths: Order will arrive between November 20 and 22. Delivery after November 22 nd to your customers. Popcorn Pickup dates for show and deliver: Every Thursday between 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Please make every effort to come during those times as making special arrangements adds to our already busy schedule. Location: The Matko s, Furman St NE, Forest Lake, MN Questions: Deb (612) TROOP ONLY: Fundraising Goals Sales goal for the Troop is $1000 in combined sales between popcorn and wreaths per scout. Margin: Total Profit for Popcorn is 39% of sales because boy scouts get the extra 4% for not receiving the trails end tier prizes and 35% on the wreaths. Troop profit 20% of the overall sales Scouts 19% for popcorn sales and 15% for wreath sales

2 TROOP ONLY: Wreath Sales Wreath sales are again take order only. There is a new product for sale that we are going to tryout. It is again from Milkman s (same as the little live trees). It is an evergreen centerpiece with a candle in the center. Check the wreath brochure for information. It is also one of the items that can be mailed as gifts. Also, I m allowing sales on everything in the brochure this year instead of having to cross stuff out. That means you can sell the spruce tops and wild rice if your customers want it. We ONLY sell the Balsam products, not the Balsam/Pine mix. Tell your customers the wreath products will be delivered after November 22 nd. Be sure to complete your wreath summary sheet to place your order with me at the end of the sale along with your payment. POPCORN Sale Information (Troop and Pack) PACK: Again, the Pack popcorn sales are optional. But, if you decide to sell, then you need to let me know a contact so that you can receive my communications. I won t be sending out blasts to the entire pack on fundraising. PACK: Any Web II scouts that decide to sell popcorn can choose to sell as a boy scout and receive the additional 4% of profit for your scout account (you can t participate in the tiered Trails End prizes with this option) or you can continue to sell under the cub scout brochure with all of the prizes. You need to tell me up front what you decide. Ways to sell Popcorn: Take orders order and deliver later Show and Deliver pick up the product from me and deliver as you sell (my favorite) Storefront Sales you just show up IN UNIFORM and work a shift. Sales are divided among all hours worked at all storefronts to come up with an hourly rate. Online Sales self explanatory.

3 Popcorn Product changes: Only one cheese single bag popcorn: White Cheddar No more Butter Light Microwave Popcorn New product: Sea Salt Carmel Popcorn (sampled this it is DELICIOUS) Cheese Lovers has one yellow cheddar, one white cheddar and one bag of jalapeno cheddar. Chocolate Lovers is back in a tin and now has chocolate pretzels, white chocolate pretzels, chocolatey caramel crunch and NEW Pecan Cluster turtles!! Bonus Prizes this year (Pack and Troop): Level 1 ($450): Base Camp Level 2 ($650): Slimeball Splat Set or Slushie Cup for Camp Level 3 ($900): Crayola Experience Pass Level 4 ($1300): Adventure points Earn 60 points once you sell $1300. Then you earn 10 points for every $100 sold over $1300. Adventures Valley Fair: 50 points Big Thrill Factory: 60 points Nickelodeon Universe: 60 points Conquer Ninja Warrior: 60 points MN United Soccer: 60 points Science Museum: 120 points Star Wars Ep 8: 60 points Brickbuilder: 60 points For every 10 points you don t spend, you will be entered into a drawing for $500 lego shopping spree. Level 5 ($1600): $50 Walmart Gift Card Level 6 ($1800): Pancake Breakfast Level 7 ($2500): Scholarship qualification (Note you only have to reach this level once, every year after that you earn 6% of your sales toward the scholarship fund) Level 8 ($4000): $40 Walmart Gift Card, additional $40 card for every $500 in sales over $4000 Trip to Disney similar to last year, see the brochure Mad Scientist Patch Collection (build a patch). Similar to last year, but there is a new Mentor Mummy patch if you help a younger scout with their sales. Details are in the brochure.

4 Pack Sellers: Also check out the Tiered prize program for your sales on the 2 nd and 3 rd page of the pack sales brochure. Troop scouts do not qualify for this program, they receive 4% more in profit instead. Show and Deliver Product Pickup: Product Pickup Location (The Matko s) Furman St NE Forest Lake, MN Product Pickup Dates (5:00pm 7:00pm unless noted) Thursday, September 21 st Thursday, September 28 th Thursday, October 5 th Thursday, October 12 th Thursday, October 19 th Thursday, October 26 th (RETURN DAY) STOREFRONTS (16 this year): Storefront Guidelines: Both troop and pack to sign up for time slots Maximum of 2 scouts to signup per hour No siblings who are not scouts allowed at the storefronts Sales credit for storefront counts toward the blitz prizes (separate blitz competition for pack and troop meaning there will be a separate blitz award for Troop sales, and one for pack sales. Troop sales will count popcorn and wreath sales. Pack will count only popcorn sales.) Storefront signup is again on doodle.com. The links will be on the TROOP website under fundraising. (by the end of this weekend 17 th ) weebly.com Scouts MUST be in uniform, shirt tucked and tidy NO scouts are to handle the cashbox it must be an adult We will use square again this year to accept CC sales. See the last page of the handout for the Storefront Schedule Online Sales Same as last year, follow the instructions in the brochure. Ask if you have questions.

5 Troop/Pack Sale Incentives BLITZ Prizes RETURNING Leader Trading Cards (TROOP Only) There will be 12 Leader Trading Cards that will be available. Retro theme this year where your committee members have YOUTH pictures on the cards. The cards can be used while camping or at other Troop events where there are various duties to be performed by the scouts. The cards will enable the winning scout to trade the leader card back to that leader, and in return, the leader will perform whatever task that was assigned the scout. Weekly Blitz We will be using SAC (Scout Account Cash) again this year for the blitz prizes. Instead of receiving Visa gift cards, you will be awarded the equivalent cash value for your scout accounts. Fast Start Blitz (Combined total of Wreath and Popcorn Sales for the first weekend of sales for the Troop. Just popcorn sales for the Pack) The top 2 scouts that have the highest combined sales by Noon on Monday, Morning on September 25 th will have their name put in a drawing once for every $100 of sales. The name drawn will receive: $50 in SAC & the Troop winners will receive a Leader Trading Card the remaining Troop scout will also receive a Leader Trading Card Totals will include all sales (popcorn & wreath) up to the cutoff (Take Orders, Online Sales, storefronts, and door to door sales that fall in the blitz timeframe) Faxed to: US Mail Furman St NE, Forest Lake, MN postmarked by September 21 st Hand Delivered to: Furman St NE, Forest Lake, MN ed scans to: chuckles@visi.com

6 Remaining Blitz There will be a blitz a week during the sale Some will be based on the sales of a single item during that week, others will be based on total sales for the week Prizes will ALL Be varying levels of SAC! To enable adequate tracking of the blitz sales all scouts sales stats must be sent to Deb either fax or by noon on Mondays or the scout will be ineligible for the blitz. These stats will determine the blitz winners. Both popcorn sales and Wreath Take Orders must be submitted which # s count depends on the blitz that week. s will be sent out weekly to describe the details of the upcoming blitz Again, popcorn and wreath totals for the troop, but just popcorn sales for the pack. Weekly Blitz Summary Week 1: 5pm 9/22 noon 9/25 Fast Start Blitz $50 SAC (combined popcorn & wreath sales) Week 2: Noon 9/25 noon 10/2 Popcorn Item Blitz $20 SAC (Sale Item to be announced) Week 3: Noon 10/2 noon 10/9 Fresh Start Blitz $30 SAC (combined popcorn & wreath sales) Same rules as the Fast Start Blitz, but sales for only the one week. Week 4: Noon 10/9 noon 10/16 Popcorn Item Blitz $40 SAC (Sale Item to be announced) Week 5: Noon 10/16 noon 10/22 Popcorn Item Blitz $50 SAC (Sale Item to be announced) NEW INCENTIVE for both PACK and TROOP I ve added a new award this year. It will go along with the blitz prizes. I fondly call it the NO THANK YOU award. Pack and Troop will each have a separate award. Prize is a $10 itunes gift card (one for the pack and one for the troop) To earn the prize you must keep track of how many customers you ask to support scouting and they say No Thank You. The top pack and the top troop no getter each Monday will earn a $10 itunes gift card. You send in the number of No Thank You s you receive each Monday along with your blitz sales numbers.

7 Sell $1000 by October 30 th PIES (Troop Only) Every individual scout that achieves a $1000 combined sale total for Popcorn and Wreaths by October 30 th earns the chance to deliver a Pie in the Face to a troop leader or one of your fellow scouts or you can choose to receive your pie at the November Troop meeting. Double your goal ($2000 sales) and you can upgrade to a fruit pie!!!!!!!! Top Seller in the Troop (or Top Popcorn seller for the Pack) The names of the top 2 sellers will be put in a drawing at the end of the sale. The name drawn will receive a $50 in SAC and a Leader Trading Card. The 2 nd place scout will receive a $25 in SAC and a Leader Trading Card Combined popcorn & wreath sales for the troop Popcorn sales for the pack Leader Trading cards are Troop only prizes QUESTIONS?????
