1 Product Import Guide The product import tool is useful for upload for uploading a large number of products at once. The import process has three steps: 1. Uploading photos of your products 2. Downloading an Excel template (spreadsheet) to fill in your product details 3. Uploading the completed Excel template Step 1: Upload Product Photos First, you will upload photos of the products you are going to import. We recommended uploading your images first, so that you can download the Excel template with the image names already filled in. Tip: For the best product presentation results, use large, high- resolution photos (max 10MB per photo) in.jpg format To upload photos, you can either drag- and- drop images from a folder on your computer or click Select Images to open a file browser. You can select multiple photos at once using the Shift key to select a block of photos or using the Ctrl button to select specific photos for uploading. Tip: Prior to uploading, place all of the photos in a designated folder so they re easy to find. Once you ve selected all of the photos you want to upload, click on the Open button and the photos will begin to upload. You can monitor the uploading process by watching the progress bars. Once all of the photos have been uploaded, thumbnail images of each photo will be presented on the Photos page. Tip: Make sure that you select at least one photo for every item you plan on uploading. The photos will remain in a temporary library until you import the Excel template in step 3. Once the products are successfully updated, the images will no longer be available on this page. 1

2 Step 2: Download Excel Template Once all of your product photos are uploaded, you can download the Excel template to fill in your product details. To fill in the template, you should understand the basic format: The first row of column headings should not be modified. Each row after the column headings corresponds to a single product The image names for your uploaded photos are prefilled in the column Photo 1 If multiple images in the Photo 1 column belong to the same product, move them into one row ( Photo 1, Photo 2, Photo 3, etc) Fields marked with an * are required For each product, you need to specify the number of buying options. buying options o Example: If your product has no buying options it s one- size- fits- all, comes in only one color combination or one size combination One buying option o Example: If your product has one buying option, like multiple colors. Two buying options o Example: If your product has two buying option combinations, like multiple colors AND sizes. A.) If your product has no buying options, please follow the instructions below: All information should fit on one row Do not fill in the following: o SKU Name o Variant SKU o Option 1 Name o Option 1 Value o Option 2 Name o Option 2 Value B.) If your product has one buying option, please follow the instructions below: The parent product information should fit on one row, including Option 1 Name For each individual buying combination (SKU), you ll need to enter values in the rows below o The buying combination (SKU) is a child of the parent product In the example below, the parent product is on row 2 and the SKU information (child) is on row 3, 4, and 5 2

3 On the parent level (row 2), only fill out: o Product Name o Product SKU o Option 1 Name o Price / MSRP (these will be the default prices if you leave any prices / MSRP blank for the SKU) o Shipping Start / End Dates o Category o Brand o Collection o Description (this will be the default description if your SKU does not have a description) o Search Tags o Product Privacy o Price Privacy o Image (this will be the default image if your SKU does not have its own image) On the SKU level (row 3, 4, 5), only fill out: o SKU Name o Variant SKU o Option 1 Value o Price / MSRP o Inventory Quantity o Description o Images Do not fill in the following: o Option 2 Name o Option 2 Value C.) Product Name* Yes The name of the product as it will be displayed to customers. Blue Running Shoes Product SKU* Yes The product SKU is a unique identifier for a product in your store. You cannot reuse the same SKU number for multiple products

5 SKU Name This field is the name of the unique buying option combination your buyers will be able to select this value from a dropdown. Blue - Small If your product does not have any buying options, Variant SKU This field is the external id of the unique buying option combination. BS1 If your product does not have any buying options, Option 1 Name This is the first buying option for your product. If your product does not have any buying options, Color Option 1 Value If your product does not have any buying options, Blue Option 2 Name If your product does not have any buying options, Size Option 2 Value If your product does not have any buying options, Price The standard wholesale price for this product. Small 50 If your product has a buying option, you can specify a different price than the one associated with the parent product. If you do not specify a price, the buying option (SKU) will inherit the price from the parent product. MSRP The standard MSRP for this product. 100 If your product has a buying option, you can specify a different MSRP than the one associated with the parent product. If you do not specify an MSRP, the buying option (SKU) will inherit the 5

6 MSRP from the parent product. Shipping Start This is the shipping start date for your product. 08/27/2017 Shipping End This is the shipping end date for your product. 10/31/2017 Inventory Quantity The stock you have on hand for this product. This number will be decremented as buyers buy your product. 100 Category* Yes The category that this product belongs to. The value entered here must exactly match a category that was setup by the marketplace organizer, and must contain all of the parent categories as part of the value. Products can belong in more than one category. To associate the product with multiple categories, enter in a second category after the first, but separated with // (without the quotes). Men Apparel Shoes or Men Apparel Shoes//Men Footwear Athletic To download a full list of available categories, return to the product import tool and look for the link to Download List of Available Categories and Brands. Brand* Yes The brand that this product belongs to. The value entered here must exactly match a brand that you configured in your showroom. Terra Shoes If you have only a single brand, this will be the same as the name of your company. If you have multiple brands, you must set them up ahead of time to reference them. To download a full list of brands that you setup, return to the product import tool and look for the link to Download List of Available Categories and Brands. 6

7 Available Immediately A product that is available immediately is displayed to customers as being available to ship immediately and will be publically displayed. Y or N Collection A product can be assigned to a specific collection. Please create a collection first. Any existing collection name, for instance: Summer Collection 2016 Description A longer description of your product this could be a few words to a few sentences. If your product has a buying option, you can specify a different description than the one associated with the parent product. If you do not specify a description, the buying option (SKU) will inherit the description from the parent product. Search Tags You can tag your products with keywords that can be searchable. For instance, if you tag your item as "Summer", if a buyer searches for "Summer", your product will be returned in the search results. Product tags need to be separated by a comma. Summer, Pastel, Relaxing, Sunny Product Privacy Options must be "Private", "Community" or "Public". Private or Community or Public. Public: Any user can see this product, logged in or not. Community: Only logged in users who are part of the community can see this product Connections: Only connected companies can see your products If no options are selected, the product privacy defaults to Community. 7

8 Image1 Image10 * The image columns should contain the name of an image file that you uploaded. If the image file name does not match any images you uploaded, it will be ignored. Each product can have up to ten images. You must include the file extension (e.g..jpg) in this field. blue- running- shoes.jpg *Products with no images will be saved, but will not be published until you add at least one image. If your product has a buying option, you can specify a different image than the one associated with the parent product. If you do not specify an image, the buying option (SKU) will inherit the pictures from the parent product. Additional Attributes Any columns after the image columns and buying option columns are additional fields that the marketplace operator has set up. You can enter any descriptive text in these additional columns. Country of Origin: United States Recommended for Children: Step 3: Import Products Once you have filled in the Excel template and saved it on your computer, you will start the import process by uploading this file. To upload the file, select the file you saved on your computer, and choose whether you want the products to be published (visible) immediately after they are uploaded. When the import is complete, you will see a summary of how many products were successfully imported and whether there were any rows in the template with errors. Product rows that have errors are not uploaded. The detailed error messages for each row will appear on the screen. 8

9 If there are any errors, you can make any necessary corrections to the Excel template and import it again. You do not have to import the product photos again. 9
