1 EMAC 2019 Cnference, May 28-31, 2019 University f Hamburg, Germany SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR COMPETITIVE PAPERS The final submissin date is December 5, 2018 (14:00 CET Time). Please read these guidelines carefully and strictly fllw them when creating yur submissin! Submissins that d nt adhere t the guidelines will be deleted frm the system. Yu can submit nly 1 cmpetitive paper as the presenting authr. Hwever, yu can be the nn-presenting and nn-submitting authr f multiple submitted papers. Participatin in special sessins is exempt frm this ne-presenter limitatin. By submitting a paper, the submitting authr cmmits t attending the cnference and presenting the paper, if the paper is accepted. If after acceptance f the paper the submitting authr wuld be unable t participate in the cnference, nly ne f the c-authrs can take ver the presenting rle, if she r he des nt present anther cmpetitive paper at the cnference yet. Befre submitting t ne f the cmpetitive tracks, please read the track descriptins carefully in the sectin Tracks & Track Chairs n the EMAC 2019 Cnference Website. Submitting the paper t the right track fr yur wrk increases yur chances f acceptance and later n attracting the crrect audience at the cnference. 2 Papers will be evaluated thrugh a duble-blind review prcess verseen by the track chairs. Evaluatin will be based n the quality f the research, the nvelty f the findings, the cntributin t the marketing discipline within the sub-field assciated with the track the paper was submitted t, and clarity f presentatin. The track chairs are cmmitted t give yu feedback n their decisin. The track chairs will decide whether yur paper is accepted fr ral presentatin r nt. If yur paper is nt accepted fr ral presentatin, it may be accepted as a pster. This decisin and ffer are als made by the track chairs. Authrs will be ntified f the track chair decisins by mid-march The decisin f the track chairs is final. Yu can edit yur paper until the submissin deadline (December 5, :00 CET Time). 3 General Guidelines fr Submitting Cmpetitive Papers All guidelines and criteria belw apply fr submissins t ne f the regular cnference tracks. 1. All submissins shuld be upladed as pdf-files. 2. Authrs shuld indicate the track in which they wuld like t present their paper. Papers must be submitted fr review in nly 1 track. 3. All papers are limited t 10 pages. This includes everything: the cver / title page with abstract, references, tables, and figures). Any paper exceeding the limit will nt be included in the review prcess. 4. When yu submit, make sure yu have the required infrmatin fr every c-authr n the paper at yur dispsal. Yu will be asked t enter this infrmatin n the webpage when yu submit. All authrs names and affiliatins will be published in the cnference prceedings exactly as yu have entered them. The rder f the authr and c-authrs can be changed until the submissin deadline, but the submitter f the paper will be cnsidered as primary presenter. N changes can be made after the submissin deadline. 5. There shuld be NO AUTHOR INFORMATION, neither n any page f the paper itself nr in file prperties f yur dcument, as papers will be duble blind peer reviewed. If yu submit a paper that cntains any infrmatin identifying yu r a cauthr, the paper will be remved frm the system, and yu will be asked t resubmit. It will be yur respnsibility t resubmit within the given deadline. 6. Empirical papers must state the bjectives f the research, the research methd, majr results, implicatins and key references. 7. Cnceptual papers are cnsidered but will be evaluated by strict criteria fr cnceptual cntributin. 8. By submitting yu declare that (a) yu agree t register fr the cnference and t present the paper, if the paper is accepted; and that (b) the paper has nt been submitted t ther cnference tracks, and it that has nt previusly been presented at EMAC. 4 Frmatting Requirements When yu prepare yur paper fr submissin, please make sure that yu fllw the frmatting guidelines very carefully. Papers shuld be: 1.5 spaced and left justified thrughut Times New Rman 12-pint fnt (except fr the title, which shuld be Times New Rman 14-pint fnt) A4 size page frmatting 2.5cm margins at all sides (tp, bttm, left, right) Remve any authr r institutinal identifying infrmatin frm the file prperties f yur dcument. Please see HERE hw t remve hidden data frm yur wrd dcument The paper is limited t 10 PAGES, everything included: the cver / title page with abstract, references, appendix, tables, and figures. Structure f the paper: D nt include the authr(s ) name(s) n the title page r in any ther part f the paper. Page 1 (1 page) Shuld display the title f the paper. Frmat: centred, bld, and Times New Rman 14-pint fnt fllwed by an abstract f 1,000 characters summarizing the main gals, findings and cnclusins f yur research. Cmpliance t the character limit is required t enable a standardized layut fr cnference prgram bk and the prceedings. Frmat: left justified, Times New Rman 12-pint fnt, maximum f 1,000 characters including spaces and punctuatin Specify a maximum f 3 keywrds Frmat: left justified, regular, italic and Times New Rman 12-pint fnt Identify the track yur paper is intended fr. 5 Main bdy f yur paper Shuld start n page 2, including tables, figures, and technical details if required (such as mathematical prf). At the start f each new paragraph r sectin, yu shuld indent the first line. Headings and sub-headings. Majr headings shuld be numbered sequentially, left justified and blded (1. Majr Heading). The first letter f each majr wrd shuld be capitalised and all f the ther wrds shuld be in lwer case. One single space line shuld precede and ne single space shuld fllw a majr heading Sub-headings shuld be numbered accrding t the main heading, left justified, regular and in italics (1.1 Sub-heading). One space line shuld precede a subheading. Only the first letter f the first wrd shuld be capitalised. Sub sub-headings shuld be avided unless necessary (1.1.1 Sub sub-heading). If yu use sub sub-headings they shuld be numbered accrding t the main heading, left indented, regular and in italics. N empty space lines shuld precede r fllw a sub sub-heading. Only the first letter f the first wrd shuld be capitalised. Figures and Tables shuld be integrated within the text as clse as pssible t where they are first mentined. Ftntes shuld be avided unless necessary. If used, ftntes shuld be numbered cnsecutively thrughut the text with superscript Arabic numerals. Frmulae.
