What was the proces s you us ed to find it? 4. How/why was that item valuable to you? 5. What tracking services are you aware of that would help you find los t/s tolen items? Can you tell us about a time you us ed one?

Who we interviewed We interviewed 19 individuals who ranged from young, s ingle profes s ionals to middle aged, upper class people with grown children. Gender Age range Marital status Income Range 55% Male, 45% Female years old 20% married, 80% single 30k-200k

-The age constraint was not what we expected. People in older age ranges experienced losing their items more often than our target market. Also, we found in our demographic information that they had a larger dis pos able income. What we learned -There is not a reliable, widely used solution on the market for tracking items. -The two mos t important values around los t/s tolen items : cos t and s entimentality. -The women that were interviewed reported items were not lost/stolen as frequently as we assumed but the inconvenience it caused was high.

What we learned -Among the s tudent interviewees, los ing information or data was more important and a concern than los ing the actual device. -The men we interviewed los t their wallets more often than anything. The s olution to their problem was checking their bank account. -Of the 19 interviews, 9 individuals reported an item stolen and never returned. Although we have been focused on misplaced items, we began to see a larger market for tracking s tolen items.

What s next -We are considering aiming toward a higher age range for our target market from our findings. -We believe we should focus more of theft related solutions rather than mis placed items. -Regarding the application, we would cons ider adding a function to immediately report s tolen items to authorities. - We would like to test our assumptions regarding design and price.
