Since thse early days, ur sustainability practices have develped and grwn in sync with ur cmpany. The sustainability challenge fr ur business is t manage ur impact n the envirnment, lcal cmmunities and peple while maintaining business grwth. This is imprtant because by becming a sustainable business we nt nly help t preserve the wrld arund us but enhance ur business reputatin, create cmpetitive advantage and build rbust businesses that will remain cmmercially successful in the lng term. Our Respnsible Travel Plicy is a key cmpnent f that radmap that will help us integrate sustainable business principles int ur business peratins. The fllwing principles utline ur apprach in embedding sustainable practices thrughut ur peratins. 1. RESPECT: Destinatins The Intrepid Grup prmtes psitive and meaningful exchanges between ur business, ur custmers and the places we visit n all trips and acrss all destinatins. We d this by: Respecting different cultures in the destinatins we visit Respecting lcal religins, religius places and rituals Observing and respecting lcal custms and etiquette Encuraging lcal interactin and understanding f the lcal way f life Emphasising apprpriate dress standards Asking permissin befre phtgraphing Frbid the use f illegal drugs n ur turs Prtraying destinatins fairly in ur cmmunicatins and marketing material 2. SUPPORT: Lcal Peple and Lcal Ecnmy We wrk t maximize the psitive benefits generated by turism fr the lcal ecnmy and lcal cmmunities. We d this by: Emplying predminantly lcal staff and leaders within ur peratinal teams (Destinatin Management Cmpanies r using suppliers wh emply lcals) Designing and perating trips t feature lcal suppliers r suppliers wh directly benefit the lcal cmmunity and ecnmy Encuraging ur custmers/ passengers t purchase frm lcal suppliers and use lcal service prviders and supprting scial enterprises, lcal trade, arts and crafts Purchasing sustainable and lcally prduced gds and services rather than imprted prducts Ensuring we have fair emplyment practices in place (using suppliers wh have similar emplyment practices) Invlving the lcal cmmunity in decisin making Paying relevant taxes Issuing each f ur suppliers with ur Supplier Cde f Cnduct t influence ur supply chain t perate in a mre sustainable way Nt engaging in any frm f bribery, crruptin r fraudulent activities 3. PRESERVE: Envirnment We aim t cntribute t the preservatin f natural and built envirnments in the destinatins we perate and t reduce the negative impacts ur peratins may have n the envirnment. 4 Minimising the use f resurces (energy, water, waste), and reduce ur carbn emissins in ur ffices and n ur trips thrugh; Office Implementing energy cnservatin initiatives (eg. thrugh mre efficient lighting/equipment) Ensuring better waste management thrugh the avid, reuse, reduce, recycle principles Adpting better purchasing practices eg. by surcing prducts with pst-cnsumer recycled cntent Implementing water saving initiatives t reduce cnsumptin Trips Using lcal transprt where safe, reliable and feasible and when this is nt feasible, private lcally wned transprt. Ensuring ur vehicles/fleet are well maintained and fuel efficient Encuraging passengers t minimise their waste and water usage n the trip Encuraging ur suppliers t adpt mre sustainable practices r chsing suppliers wh already have greener practices in place Eating at lcal eateries (limiting fd miles) Shpping at lcal markets ffering lcal prduce, items, suvenirs etc. b. Attractins in destinatins Preserving the natural and built attractins in destinatins by; Understanding the envirnmental issues in destinatins and minimising ur direct impact (eg. if there is a lcal defrestatin issue, avid purchasing and using firewd fr a camp fire) Ensure ur passengers preserve and d nt cntaminate the lcal water supply Observe all Natinal and Marine Park visitr rules Use a pack in, take back ut management f waste in remte regins and Natinal Parks Use established r existing tracks/paths Minimise the use f intrusive devices such as lights and keep nise t a minimum at culturally significant sites and ther sensitive places Discurage all passenger tuching f fragile envirnments (eg. cral r frmatins in caves) 4. PROTECT: the mre Vulnerable Peple (Wmen, Minrities & Children) & PROTECT: Wildlife We prtect and lk after peple - in particular ur mst vulnerable by: a. Peple: Observing basic human rights principles utlined in the Universal Declaratin f Human Rights and ensuring we are prmting amng ur staff, custmers, lcal cmmunities and suppliers/business partners, their right t be treated with; dignity, equality, 4

5 freedm, and respect Mre specifically, Wmen & Minrities: We prmte equality thrugh Supprt f enterprises run r staffed by wmen and/r minrities where available (such as lcal c-peratives, educatin initiatives) Seeking wmen and minrities t be represented in decisin making that affects their lcal cmmunities where pssible Ensuring we are nt partaking in any activities r using suppliers/services that discriminate against, explit r traffic wmen and/r minrity grups Children: We prtect children (thse 17 years f age and under) frm all frms f abuse We d nt emply children nr d we use suppliers r patrn places that allw children t perfrm wrk that is illegal r likely t jepardise the child s health, safety r mrals We put in place strng measures t ensure that all Intrepid Grup cmpanies, respective suppliers, passengers and partners are nt invlved in the explitatin f children, including training relevant emplyees/leaders n child prtectin and raising awareness amng ur passengers n hw t reprt incidents f child explitatin Prmting credible initiatives that safeguard and assist in the psitive develpment f children (eg. schls and child care initiatives) N visits t children s shelters r rphanages n ur itineraries r n press/media trips b. Animals: We ppse any explitative r illegal practices and thse that have a negative impact n animal welfare. GIVE BACK: Charity/NGO Partnerships and vlunteering We develp meaningful partnerships with rganisatins and prjects that care fr their cmmunity and/r envirnment thrugh fundraising, advcacy r lbbying activities. Primary respnsibility & Accuntability Intrepid Grup Glbal Leadership Team is respnsible fr the verall executin f this plicy and have verall accuntability with supprt frm all f the IG Brands and Divisins. b. Functinal respnsibility Prduct team: respnsible fr trip design, including relevant research int activities that culd supprt creating shared value n grund as well as flagging thse that culd cntravene the plicy. The prduct team will facilitate RT discussin with DMC and/r third party suppliers. Cmpile trip evaluatins including annual RT perfrmance results. Marketing/Cmmunicatins/studi: respnsible fr selling and fair prtrayal f destinatins thrugh cmmunicatin and marketing channels, creating and selecting apprpriate imagery fr brchures, websites etc. Marketing team will als be charged with engaging custmers in IGs purpse beynd prfit aims and respnsible travel eths thrugh blgs, scial media etc. Human Resurces: inductin, training f staff, engagement survey evaluatin DMC: Respnsible fr n-grund executin f this plicy, training f leaders & relevant staff, apprpriate supplier prcurement and engagement, assistance with assessments and evaluatins f trips/itineraries. Respnsible Business: Overall c-rdinatin, develpment f supprting materials, relevant training mdules and general supprt c. Review and Cntrls The adherence t this plicy will be mnitred thrugh; External review Custmer/passenger feedback fr all brands (specifically their Respnsible Travel rating and verall cmments) Brands are respnsible fr cmpiling this infrmatin twice a year. 6
