ROOTMETRICS NETWORK PERFORMANCE RESULTS H, 0 Big news. THE LATEST ROOTMETRICS TEST RESULTS SHOW THAT OUR NETWORK IS THE UK S BIGGEST, FASTEST AND MOST RELIABLE. It s official. Hang out the bunting.

Contents Page. Overview. The awards 5. UK national results 7. Country results: England 9. Country results: Northern Ireland. Country results: Scotland. Country results: Wales

Overview New network performance tests from RootMetrics During the second half of 0, RootMetrics carried out more network performance testing across the UK, to look at results for the four main operators (EE, Three, O and Vodafone) at both a national (UK) and country (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) level. RootMetrics used results from tests previously carried out throughout the year in 6 UK cities (Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Coventry, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield). They also did some extra testing in officially designated built up areas in England and Wales, and settlement areas in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The results from each country were then combined to look at performance for the UK as a whole during the second half of 0. AND WE WON THE LOT. Read on for more details.

The awards RootScore Award This is the top award, for overall performance. A good RootScore means good coverage and a good customer experience. Reliability index A good score here means customers are more likely to be able to do what they want, when they want to, on a network. And being able to do that reliably. Speed index This is how quickly customers can connect to the network, do things with data online, and send and receive text messages. Mobile Internet Mobile internet performance looks at typical data use on the move uploading, downloading, ing, transferring files and using the internet. Call Call performance looks at whether calls connect first time and stay connected. Text The Text category measures the time it takes to send and receive text messages, and text success or failure rates.

UK EE wins all six award categories. Three and O each take second place in three categories. Vodafone takes last place in five categories. 5

UK scores RootScore Award A convincing lead by EE, more than points clear of Three in second place. Not such an impressive result for O or Vodafone. Reliability index Customers with O and Vodafone just can t rely on their network the same way our customers can. Speed index We re still streets ahead when it comes to speed, even allowing for the competition starting to roll out G in the second half of Mobile Internet Using the internet on the move is faster with EE than any other operator. Our upload and download speeds are way ahead. Call Our work to reduce dropped calls continues to pay off. Top of the class. Again. That s fewer dropped or failed calls on our network. Text It s quicker to send texts with EE. And more of them succeed in getting through than they do on O, Three or Vodafone

ENGLAND EE wins all six award categories. Three and O each take second place in three categories. Vodafone takes last place in five categories, fails to meet the minimum performance requirement in the Mobile Internet category. 7

England scores RootScore Award Again EE was the overall winner, top for performance across the board. And with a convincing lead over everyone else. Reliability index You can rely on the EE network across the country to do what you want, when you want to, ahead of any other operator. Speed index Just look at that almost 0 points ahead of the rest. That s a lot of speedy texting, ing and internetting if you re with EE Mobile Internet Oh dear, Vodafone. And not a very impressive performance from O here. Meanwhile, EE zips ahead. Speedy. Call Our customers get better results when they re making or receiving a call, than anyone who s with O, Three or Vodafone. Text Our performance in the Text category can t be beaten, meaning more messages are successfully sent and received on EE Below 0.0 minimum performance threshold

NORTHERN IRELAND EE wins four award categories outright, ties with Three on Network Reliability and Text. The Call category is a three-way tie. O remains third in five categories, while Vodafone stays in last place throughout, fails to achieve the minimum required performance in the Mobile Internet category. 9

Northern Ireland scores RootScore Award Another win for EE. We scored strongly across all categories, and nobody else could quite keep up. Reliability index It s a neck-and-neck result here for EE and Three. O and Vodafone didn t fare so well and aren t so reliable. Speed index You can connect to the EE network and get on with what you need to more quickly, whether that s using data or texting Mobile Internet Vodafone didn t meet the minimum requirement to be scored, while O also lagged behind. For fast and reliable mobile internet, best stick with EE. Call All of the operators except Vodafone performed strongly But you re more likely to successfully make or receive a call on EE. Text Another joint first for us and Three on text performance O aren t far behind, but Vodafone lagged a bit Below 0.0 minimum performance threshold

SCOTLAND EE wins five award categories outright, ties with Three on Network Reliability. O is third in five categories, takes last place in the sixth. Vodafone takes last place in five categories, fails to meet the minimum performance requirement for Network Reliability and Mobile Internet.

Scotland scores RootScore Award Top in five categories and joint top in the remaining one, we comfortably took the lead position for overall performance. Reliability index EE and Three scored highly so shared top place. But we can see the points difference, right? Bad luck, Vodafone. Speed index Connecting to our network to send texts or use data on the move is quicker with us than with anyone else. Fact Below minimum performance threshold 68.0 Mobile Internet Despite launching G in 0, O and Vodafone s speeds are nowhere near what EE can offer. And Vodafone didn t even make it into the category. Call We re still out in front for customers who want to be sure that they can easily connect to our voice network, and make or receive a call without blocks or drops. Text Everyone scored pretty well here it s hard to get text services wrong. But you can send and receive messages more quickly and reliably on EE Below minimum performance threshold

WALES EE wins three categories outright, ties with Three on the others. The RootScore award is a tie between EE and Three. O and Vodafone stay in third and fourth position throughout. Both fail to meet the minimum performance requirement in the Reliability and Mobile Internet categories.

Wales scores RootScore Award The award for overall performance was judged a tie between EE and Three. Not such a great performance for the others.. Reliability index The category was judged a draw between EE and Three,. Meanwhile, customers at O and Vodafone can t rely on their networks. Speed index Our performance on speed in Wales can t be beaten, so that s quicker uploading, downloading and texting on EE Below minimum performance threshold Below minimum performance threshold 6. Mobile Internet Another closely fought battle between EE and Three, and another draw. Yet again, O and Vodafone didn t make the grade. Call Our call performance continues to dominate. That s better connection times and fewer dropped or failed calls with EE. Text You re also more likely to be able to send a text successfully in Wales, and do it more quickly, on EE Below 0.0 minimum performance threshold Below 0.0 minimum performance threshold
