2 Sales and Marketing Executive Marketing and Communications, Facilities Directorate Are you driven by achieving sales targets? Do you have a passion for delivering an excellent customer experience? Are you experienced in marketing? Do you have excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage yours and your team's workload? You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the Sales and Marketing Team; including the implementation of the membership sales strategy, planning and delivering promotional activities and initiatives. You will be required to contribute to the wider marketing programme for the service, evaluating the impact of activities undertaken and contributing to the general operation of the service. What does the role entail? As a Sales and Marketing Executive your main duties will include: Working with the colleagues as a part of the Facilities Directorates Sales and Marketing Team, playing a key role in the business, raising our profile to new audiences, and enhancing Sport and Physical Activity s (SPA) excellent reputation within the city and the sector; Leading the Sales Team to hit competitive targets to meet key performance indicators and accurately report on sales activity and success; Designing and implementing effective marketing activities to generate high volume sales leads; responding to customer comments regarding sales and marketing activity; Working with the Sales, Marketing and Retention Manager, to devise and produce promotional campaigns to meet the sales targets. This will include the seasonal promotions to ensure that maximum revenue is generated during the quieter months and conversion rates are maximised; Managing events ensuring maximum member participation and staff involvement; Contributing to the University open days, working with SPA colleagues to maximise the impact and success of the day;

3 Leading SPA s response to initiatives and targeted public relations opportunities that raise the profile of the service and the implementation of a comprehensive evaluation process for these initiatives; Responsibility for leading day to day management of all membership matters, prospective customers, answering queries on a wide range of subjects (e.g. fitness, sports development, planned events); Undertaking regular market research and competitor analysis providing comprehensive and accurate reports to inform business decisions; Managing the regular communications with customers and contributing to content of using a range of social media; Working with the other teams within SPA to ensure that marketing support is provided to enable their targets/objectives to be met; Enforcing the SPA brand whilst making regular visits and checks to other facilities; Assisting in the production of copy for promotional literature, liaising with printers and press departments and following the process through from concept to production and distribution in line with the annual plan of promotions; Being a point of contact for external events at SPA facilities for example Conferences and Health Roadshows; Being responsible for the line management of the Sales and Marketing assistants, leading the training of reception staff, Duty Managers and other key personnel in the correct sales procedures; Working to provide an excellent customer service by adhering to the Service standards and values; Any other duties as may reasonably be required, consistent with the grade of the post. What will you bring to the role? As a Sales and Marketing Executive you will have: The ability to motivate and lead a team to reach challenging sales targets; Commitment to providing an excellent customer service and working in a customer focussed environment;

4 Previous experience in a face-to-face sales and marketing position with a proven sales record; Commitment to continuous service improvements to realise our vision; Good analytical skills with experience of analysing data and reporting on the findings; Good computer skills, specifically a range of social media, MS Office suite and a relevant lead-tracking/crm system; Excellent written and verbal communication skills and inter-personal skills, with the ability and willingness to inform persuade, negotiate and influence others in a helpful manner; Be able to build effective working relationships with colleagues and customers and the ability to communicate with a diverse audience; Ability to work responsibly on own initiative without close supervision as well as part of a team; Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadline; A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You may also have: Previous marketing experience in a sport/health and fitness/leisure or physical activity context; Proven experience of line-managing team members in a sales and marketing context.
