Now, you have to configure a few aspects that would define your business strategy. WooCommerce allows a lot of options to suit diverse business models and strategies. It is up to you to determine your ideal strategy and set up store options accordingly. For example, the payment or shipping options featured on your store should be determined after careful analysis of the available options market, customers, etc. Such aspects will be different to individual stores, and you need to choose the best combination for your store based on research. As a beginner, this tutorial would give you an introduction to the basic options available with WooCommerce. As and when your store develops, you can always find extensions for whatever business problems you might have to encounter. We have already configured some of the basic settings with the setup wizard at the start. Now let us see the detailed settings for your WooCommerce store WooCommerce Settings To access settings page, on your WordPress navigation panel, go to WooCommerce > Settings. General Settings - Base location and currency The base location of your store is an important aspect in WooCommerce. WooCommerce uses the location that you set here for calculation of shipping costs and tax rates.you need to be aware about the tax rules and other aspects specifically applicable to this location. Similarly, the currency of your store should also be determined after considering the location you are selling the most.

3 The General Settings page is where you set up the base location of your store, the currency you are going to use for your transactions, and a few other settings related to shipping and taxes. To access the General Settings of WooCommerce, on your WordPress admin panel, go to WooCommerce > Settings > General. On this page, you can see three options - Store Address, General Options and Currency. First, you need to enter the base address of your store. This will be the center of your business. Tax and Shipping rates will be calculated based on this address. If you have already added the address on the Setup Wizard, you will find these fields already filled in.

4 Next, you need to set up some general options related to shipping and taxes. WooCommerce is asking more about your selling strategy here. You might want to sell only to certain countries or you want to not sell to certain countries. The Selling location(s) field is where you determine where to sell your products. There is a drop-down with the following options: Sell to all countries Sell to all countries, except for Sell to specific countries The latter two options require you to specify the names of the countries.

5 The next option is regarding shipping. Similar to selling locations, you can determine where all you want to ship your products to. The options are pretty straightforward as listed below: Ship to all countries you sell to Ship to all countries Ship to specific countries only Disable shipping & shipping calculations Next is regarding the default location of your customer. This is to assume a location to estimate shipping and tax rates before the customer actually enters their address details. The options are as follows: No location by default Shop base address Geolocate Geolocate (with page caching support) Basically, if you choose shop base address as the customer s default location, the system will calculate taxes and shipping based on that. Geolocate verifies the actual location of the customer, and accordingly calculate taxes. The third option is similar as the second one, but it is powered by Ajax to avoid static caching of prices. When you are running an online store, you need to comply to the tax rules and regulations of your store location as well as customer location. You need to tick the next checkbox that says Enable taxes and tax calculations. Once this is enabled, a new tab will be added on WooCommerce settings where you can define the applicable tax rates.
