Vendor Signature: Date: Vendor Name: FRENCH MARKET INFORMATION DATE & TIME: Saturday, June 10, 2017; 10:00am - 3:00pm LOCATION: Stoffer Plaza, 1 block east of Downtown Albion, along the river. VENDOR REQUIREMENTS: o General and product liability insurance (if applicable). o Current State of Michigan licenses (if applicable). o Organic certification (if applicable). o A product list and brief description of production practices (if applicable). PRODUCTS: o Agricultural and food products such as fresh vegetables, fruit, flowers, baked goods, jams, jellies, MDARD allowed Cottage Law products and other farm products such as dairy, cheese, meats, syrups, and honey. All items must be clearly labeled with description and price. All agricultural products are subject to approval by the Market Committee and should be farm/agricultural, food, natural, organic in nature and use. o Artisan products such as art (photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture) and craftwork (jewelry, soaps, wood, knitting, crochet, quilt, and other craftwork). All artisan products will be presented to the Market Planning Committee for a juried selection. o No live animals or poultry. NO EXCLUSIVITY: Please be aware that there will not be product exclusivity at the market so there may be multiple vendors selling like-products. PRODUCT QUALITY: Only fresh, quality products are acceptable. The selling of spoiled, overripe, unusable or outdated products is prohibited. PRODUCT LABELING AND DEFINITIONS: All food items available for sale must be clearly labeled and identified as to their origin and price. All signage must be clearly legible. All Cottage Food Law items must be appropriately labeled. Artisan labels should be priced and clearly displayed. PRICING: Vendors are expected to offer their products for sale at a fair market price. Collusion (price setting) and/or deceptive pricing will not be tolerated. Prices must be clearly visible for all consumers to see. EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Vendors are responsible for equipment needed for selling products at the market. Equipment must be clean, in good condition and hazard free. Tents, umbrellas, canopies, signs and other items that are vulnerable to wind must be properly secured. All food items for sale must be displayed at least 6 off the ground with the exception of such items as pumpkins, gourds, winter

4 squash, plants, flowers and artisan items. Vendors are responsible for set up, tear down and clean up of their booth area. The guideline for cleaning up your booth is: Leave no trace. BOOTH FEE: $15 per booth space. (NOTE: Seasonal Farmer s Market vendors who have paid for the season do not have to pay booth fee). BOOTH SIZE & INFO: Canopy stalls are approximately 10 x 10 and will hold 2 booth spaces facing each other with a center aisle. In other words, booth spaces will align the inner and outer section of each stall, with a center aisle walkway in between (see map). Canopy booth space is limited and booths in the outer perimeter (closest to the parking lot) will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Electrical outlets are available at each canopy booth space. Freestanding Pop-Up canopies are welcome at 10 x 10. Please indicate on the map if you will have a pop-up booth. Note: Electricity is not available for pop-ups. SET UP: Booths can be set up starting as early as 8:30am on the day of the event. You will need to supply your own table(s) and set-up materials. BOOTH RESERVATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS: Circle and number your top 3 booth choices on the map provided. The market committee will attempt to accommodate your requests but will have final say on the booth assignments and market layout. Booth assignments will be reserved only after payment is received. The application deadline is May 20, BOOTH CANCELATIONS: Please contact the appropriate market coordinator for a booth cancelation. Booth fees will not be refunded for cancelations and will serve as a donation to the Albion Sister City Committee. MARKET DAY: The market will be open rain or shine. Vendors are expected to have equipment, products, and signage in place at the opening time of market. The exceptions will be in the case of man-made or natural disaster, or extremely severe weather threat (i.e. tornado or heavy T-storm). If the market is cancelled vendors will not be allowed to set up. If the vendors are already set up they will be expected to break down (if can be done safely) and seek appropriate shelter. LATE ARRIVAL: A vendor will need to notify the market coordinator one hour before the start of the market if they know that they will be late in order to hold their reserved booth. If the market coordinator does not receive a vendor late notice the reserved booth may be assigned to another registered vendor. NO-SHOW: A vendor that is scheduled to be at the market but is not able to attend is asked to notify the market coordinator as soon as possible. No-shows cause concern and may disrupt the market flow and layout for other vendors. Booth fees will not be refunded for no-shows and will serve as a donation to the Albion Sister City Committee. VENDOR PARKING: Parking for the French Market is limited to one (regular size) vehicle in the rear of the market stall (if assigned booth is under canopy). If you have a box truck or larger or vehicle with trailer, after unloading products, you will be asked to park in the City parking lot on the south side of market plaza. Parking for the winter market, after unloading products, will be in the City parking lot across the street, on the north side, of the Food Hub bldg. If possible, parking exceptions will be made for trailers and trucks to remain loaded. VENDOR CODE OF CONDUCT: All vendors are required to have, follow and display a copy of any Federal, State, County or local licenses necessary for their products to be sold (if applicable). All produce and food vendors are to use Safe Food Handling practices. Vendors (applicable) must comply with Michigan Cottage Food Law. Be courteous and respectful of everyone. Do not bring pets. 4

5 5 No smoking in or near vendor booths. Keep booth area clean, neat and orderly during market hours. Remove and clean up booth area within one (1) hour of market closing. Contact market coordinators in writing with a complaint or conflict. GRIEVANCE POLICY: The rules and guidelines have been put into place for the safety and smooth operation of the market. The market committee has the right to deny or restrict any vendor or vendor representative s access to the market for failure to follow the rules and guidelines of the French Market. Problems, complaints or concerns should be sent directly to the market coordinators. A grievance that cannot be resolved between a vendor and the market coordinators may be submitted in writing to the French Market Committee for settlement. SOLICITING AND POLITICAL ACTIVITY: All forms of organized or intended soliciting, proselytizing, or political activity are prohibited at the market.
