7 SNAP Participant Feedback Fruit and vegetable prescriptions have been so useful to my daughter and I. It allows us to have healthy food that we wouldn t have been able to have otherwise. Rx patient As a newly disabled person, Fresh Bucks is helping me stretch my SNAP benefits so I can eat low carb foods to help with my medical issues. 12 How to get Involved Educate SNAP-Ed participants about Farmers Market and Complete Eats Fruit and Vegetable Coupons: o Farmers market tours o Grocery store tours o Food demos o Distribute FM rack cards and Complete Eats materials Engage community partners with FINI grant opportunities WA State DOH 1

13 How to get Involved Engage Safeway store staff about Complete Eats Fruit and Vegetable Coupon program Potential SNAP-Ed activities: o o o o Develop a relationship with SNAP-Ed qualified retailers (Safeway stores) with the goal of increasing access to fruit and vegetables among SNAP participants. Support SNAP-Ed qualified retailers (Safeway stores) in their knowledge and promotion of coupons Communicate any local issues about coupons to Department of Health FINI team. Check-in with SNAP-Ed participants about their experience with Complete Eats Fruit and Vegetable Coupons. For example, if agencies promote coupons in classes, ask how things are going when they use the coupons. Report any issues to Department of Health FINI team. WA State DOH 13 Toolkit
