ESC is a VoIP provider and ISP serving rural areas of North Carolina and South Carolina, including much of Marlboro County SC, and proposes deployment as follows. Proposed Service Area Marlboro County, SC, Census Tract # The experiment will provide broadband service to 49 eligible high-cost locations in unserved high-cost Census Blocks with this Census Tract. (targeting census blocks , , , ) Proposed Services Voice and Broadband services with broadband transmission speeds of 10Mbps downstream/2mbps upstream provided over unlicensed fixed wireless, backhauled from our existing 480ft tower in Bennettsville SC. Funding ESC estimates construction costs to be a total of $50,000 based on knowledge of the area. The costs will be refined if and when a formal proposal is submitted. ESC requests $10,000 in funding from Connect America Funds in a one-time funding and will fund the remaining capital and ongoing expenses to operate the system.
2 ESC expects service within the unserved high-cost Census Blocks to be offered within 30 days after construction starts.
