Roadmap to your future transit options Why do we need the Long Range Plan? Along with the entire Puget Sound region, the City of Everett is growing and changing. We need to keep pace with these changes and plan for our future. What is the Long Range Plan? Everett Transit will develop a 20-year Long Range Plan by early 2018 to establish a vision for transit to serve our growing community. The final Long Range Plan will: Identify future transit service Establish a set of service standards Plan how Everett Transit will serve you into the future
Everett Transit today Everett Transit operates local bus and paratransit services primarily within the City of Everett. Providing local transit service supports the City s goals for improving the quality of life for all residents. Everett Transit service: Helps reduce congestion and travel times Gets you and your neighbors to work Connects you to your friends and services Gets you safely where you need to go How Everett Transit serves you today Everett is the only city in In 2016, we operated 2 million trips on 11 routes. Snohomish County with its own local transit system. 4 million vehicle miles & 1 million car trips are replaced by Everett Transit annually. We provide affordable transporation for the most vulnerable members of our community. 19 people per bus service hour and 6,500 people per weekday boarded an Everett Transit bus in 2016 to access schools, jobs, services, friends and family.

Considerations in planning Staying coordinated The regional transit network is growing and changing. It s important that we consider what our partners are planning in terms of projects and services, so that we coordinate our regional mobility efforts efficiently. Transit Document Everett Comprehensive Plan - Transportation Element Puget Sound Regional Council Transportation 2040 Puget Sound Regional Council Transportation Improvement Program WA State Department of Transportation State Transportation Improvement Program Snohomish County Comprehensive Plan - Transportation Element Sound Transit 3 - Light Rail from Lynnwood to Everett Community Transit Long Range Plan Relevance to Everett Transit Long Range Plan Identifies transit conditions and planned priorities. Details existing and future land uses Outlines planned regional transportation projects (i.e., transit, roads, pedestrian, etc.) Identifies planned and funded investments for Everett Transit, Community Transit, and Sound Transit Details planned and funded investments within the City of Everett Outlines planned roadway improvement projects within the City of Everett Identifies representative route and station locations for expansion of light rail from Lynnwood to Everett Highlights priorities for high-capacity Bus Rapid Transit corridors and land use forecasts Interagency coordinations Snohomish County Washington Metro Everett - Subarea Draft Action Strategy Report Revitalization Plan Provides guidance on integrating transit investments with future light rail and development within the Everett Metro Center Details planned development and transit connections around high-capacity transit along Everett Station Area Plan Lays out framework for future development around the station and suggests regulatory mechanisms to achieve it Everett Transit - Transit Development Plan ( ) Identifies near-term operations and capital investments and planned improvements
Emerging technologies The Everett Transit Long Range Plan will consider opportunities for emerging technologies in transportation and their effect on transit operations into the future. Place stickers on the emerging trends in transportation that you think Everett Transit should look to address in this Long Range Plan. Alternative mobility options Autonomous technology Battery technology Access-to-transit A wide range of new mobility options and services made possible through your smartphone (e.g. Uber, Lyft) Driverless and autonomous vehicles that may be operated by private owners and public agencies Storage batteries that directly replace diesel and hybrid engines to power vehicles and buses more efficiently An emerging trend by transit agencies to take a more comprehensive approach to connect riders to high-capacity transit options
Your priorities Planning for future transit service Help us understand your priorities and what you value most about transit service. In considering your priorities, Everett Transit will aim to maintain efficient and cost-effective services. Place stickers on your top two priorities and select your preferred service type. Priorities Service types AM $ PM Greater Coverage Where bus stops are and where routes are available High Frequency How often the bus comes Increased Comfort & Safety How enjoyable your ride is; how safe you feel Increased Span of Service How early service starts; how late service ends Low Cost How much you pay to ride Local Has frequent stops that are closer to your home and all day service Commute Has limited stops that may be farther from your home and peakhour service High capacity Has limited stops but more frequent service all day to allow for more spontaneous travel
Your feedback will help shape the Long Range Plan We want the Long Range Plan to reflect the values and vision of our community.
