4 My name is Daniel Sumner and I earn an income from internet marketing and have done since I m not a millionaire and don t claim to be one. Sure if I find myself in the millionaire seat one day then so be it, but that has never been my goal in life. My main focus within the internet marketing business is to create products which others find useful and make a little money along the way. I am not a scam artist, I will not sell products that don t work and I don t have the keys to get rich quick. If that is what you are looking for from this report then I would leave now. I own and partner quite a few internet marketing products and various coaching programs from monthly coaching tips, to coordinating modules for huge training courses worth 1000 s of Dollars. So you can say I have been around a bit and seen some action when it comes to product development. In this short report I want to show you some of the tips and techniques to creating a better product. 5 Digital Profit Master When it comes to developing products there are various key areas which you need to pay close attention to create your product and not fall by the way side with information overload, poor timings, and a bad product setup and planning. I have seen so many people in the past who try to develop a fresh product without prior planning and the correct training. Needless to say, they fall at first hurdle and their product goes to waste. You need to look beyond these hurdles and brick walls by creating a product structure. You may have developed your first product on the fly, but now it s time to get back on course and develop your next product with structure and planning! What Makes a Bad Product? We have all seen bad products, heck I have seen more than my share in my days as an internet marketer, which is enough for a lifetime. I would be so bold to say in the early days of my internet marketing career I may have produced something sub-standard! I m not afraid to say that I was a newbie once. I never came into this business claiming to be an expert from my first product. We all have to start somewhere right. The truth is we were all green newbie s at some point in our careers, and it s simply a matter of experience and learning as you go. We all learn from our mistakes and this is why I m writing about Digital Profit Master. There are a lot of discussion points to consider when I mention bad products. Some bad product points: 1. Bad sales page copy 2. Poor graphics 3. Poor layout 4. Lies (Not being truthful about your product and experience) 5. Products that don t work 6. Products that don t deliver what they say they do 7. False promises 8. Badly planned products 9. Corner cutting Control The list goes on, but I think you get the picture I still ask myself the question? Who would want to buy or promote this type of product? Or why would you want to buy or promote that product when it has so many flaws? 5 Digital Profit master By Daniel Sumner

6 Why would you want to churn out something of little value to others just to make money and then become the subject of massive refunds? Internet marketing is a business not a free for all scamming mission to push bad products to the public in an attempt to make money from peoples trust in your expertise. This report is about creating product that work and give value Take out the bad product ideas and move forward with the good. What Makes a Good Product? It s not a simple case of thinking of an idea, writing it on a few post-it notes and wham there you have it. An instant product which is going to earn you an income! Sure this is possible to do with the right contacts and promotions, and also been done 100 s of times before. I m most certainly guilty of this myself in my early days, but I have grown and developed a strategy which works, leaves no stone unturned and nothing left on the table A good product provides you with: 1. Value 2. Usefulness 3. Help 4. Outcome A good product must: 1. Look professional 2. Do what it is meant to do (exactly what it states is does) 3. Flow well 4. Deliver and even over deliver All of these items above are keys to the success of your product and therefore a must when it comes to creating your product. The ultimate goal is to create a product, market it, and return zero refunds, amazing feedback and compliments for your product and its delivery. Having these factors within your product not only shows authority in your niche, but makes you feel good to. Zero refunds are a big target, simply because you always get refunds, its part of business. However, by running a business the right way you gain respect in your market and become a point of interest, rather than a point of ridicule. Who would you rather be, the genius who over delivers or the scammer who provides poor quality? 6 Digital Profit master By Daniel Sumner

7 What is the Strategy? All products start with an idea of what could be. This for most people is where it all ends. Why? The simple reason is people do not know where to start or what to do to begin. A typical question I am asked is: I want to create a product about X I m sure I can make a ton of money from it, but where do I start? I answer these questions by directing people to coaching programs, blogs and developers to help them. But I have yet to come across something that really shows how to develop a product with a cast iron structure to follow, or one with a decent price tag anyway. DPM was born. Getting Started with that all Important Idea You need to complete a full planning phase of how you want to create your product. It s not just a case of opening your notepad and starting to generate ideas (although this is the basic idea) it s about creating a map, a layout of your total product development plan and executing it in a structured series, leaving nothing out. By executing your plan in a controlled manner you stand a greater chance of developing your future product right and exact the first time around, safe in the knowledge that you have everything covered. That s why I call it Digital Profit Master There are no magic pills, no magic bullets, not even a secret formula, just a proven strategy tweaked to create the perfect product development map to better and greater products. By developing your product in a controlled manner and using the same perfected strategy so nothing is left on the table. You create a system you can use over and over again, to create the perfect product every time. What s Involved? All products start with an idea. But how do you build on that idea? Have you ever consider creating a mind map strategy of how you are going to complete your product from start to finish? Did you ever take into consideration, aspects like domain names and how they are key worded for Google? Do you only buy.com? Is there a possibility your ebook idea could turn into a full multimedia experience training course and add ten times the initial value? Did you consider the impact of a professional graphics package and how this would affect sale of your product? 7 Digital Profit master By Daniel Sumner

8 Are you using the right tools for the job, where can you source them from? Do you know how to build on your ideas to create a better product? Do you know how are you going to market your product? Do you know where are you going to market your product? Do you know how are you going to get your product indexed with Google? These are just some of the questions you need ask yourself when creating your product. After all, you want to get it right first time. I spent a long time trying to get it right. Now I have my development strategy, I can get it right every time with a simple few tweaks. Generating the Idea There are times when an idea will pop into your head which you usually think is a fantastic idea. There are times when this could be or will be a great idea. However there are also times when you do need to stop and take a moment to analyse your idea to find out if it truly has potential. I am in no way trying to rain on the parade, but it s true. Rational thought is most certainly needed in these situations. Producing products that have no market will only lead to loss time, money and effort. Screen the Idea After the ideas phase is complete and you have filtered out the crazy ideas and the madness. You need to take a good look at the product ideas you have left. How, who and will are the questions that have to be asked. How will your consumers and subscribers benefit? How technical will your product be to create? Who is your audience? Who is your competition? Will your product be profitable? Will your product be understandable? Developing Your Ideas and Testing You need to give the ideas phase of your product some deep thought. It s not just a case of creating a product that you think will work. You need a demand, a gap in the market, or at least an improved product which you build on. You don t have to reinvent the wheel, or come up with the latest innovative idea! You don t have to create the next Facebook or Google, you simply have to fill a gap and develop a product that your current and future customers can use. You can test your idea by carrying out a survey of your list of subscribers using survey monkey. Just come right out and ask your subscribers what they want, need or could use within their business. 8 Digital Profit master By Daniel Sumner

9 The feedback returned from these surveys will most certainly give you the ideas to get started and build on for a future product. In no way am I saying plagiarize another product as your own, this is not acceptable. You can however look at ways to improve other products. Take the motor vehicle industry for example. There are a countless brands of motor manufacturers who build cars. All cars have wheels chassis and doors etc. and get you from A to B. Basically they all do the same job. None of these businesses are trying to be individuals by reinventing radicalize the motor industry (electric car being the exception), they are all in the transport business building cars for profit. However some of these cars are better than others, some more innovative, some do the job of getting you from A to B in ways which make it easier, more comfortable and better than the other. By taking current products and using them as a benchmark, you have the opportunity to raise the bar and improve the products you create. 5 Tips to Launch Your Product Development to Higher Levels 1. Take your time to investigate your product and market. If you don t have an idea of what to create, market research is essential to create the product and find out which products are in demand. Try to address the needs of in demand products and provide a service for others to use. Ask yourself and others questions - what do I need? What do you need? 2. Understanding what products to create for people may seem like a hard task, but really it s not. How do regular off line businesses find out what people think. How do they find out what their employees want? Surveys are a sure way to find out what people need, try survey Monkey and survey your list for ideas for your next product. 3. Create products based on your job knowledge. What can you do or provide which others need? Work on your strengths. For example, if you have been selling on ebay for a long time, or have job knowledge of website development. Your product could then show people certain aspects of these strengths, a how too guide, or focus on a niche within a niche. Play to your strengths to provide experience. 4. Outsourcing is a great way to speed things up and free up time to create other parts of your project. Why spend time doing mundane tasks when you can outsource them for a small fee. One of the many reasons for this could be lack of knowledge e.g. graphics and sales page design and layout. These are time consuming tasks and by outsourcing these types of tasks, you can allow to yourself more time to concentrate on the tasks where you have strength. 9 Digital Profit master By Daniel Sumner

10 5. Test test test, ensure you test your products in full. Ask guys to test your product for you, run through your sales flow, take a look at your videos and give their opinion. By doing this you place your project in new hands with a fresh pair of eyes. By giving your project to others you gather mixed opinions which you can build on.
