1 Start on the Fast Track FAST TRACK PROGRam INCENTIVEs In your first three full months as an IBO, you can qualify for $350 in Fast Track Incentive Program bonuses for retailing product and sponsoring new IBOs who do the same. This bonus is in addition to your available Retail Margin and Performance Bonus earnings. You re on the Fast Track! Here s how it works: Each month that you generate 150 total PV with at least 50 PV from registered customer sales, you ll earn a $50 bonus. (PV and BV are explained on the next page.) 2 Understanding PV and BV PV and BV All the products you sell are assigned a Point Value (PV) and a Business Volume (BV). Monthly Performance Bonuses are calculated using the PV and BV you accumulate through your purchases, the purchases made by your customers, and those made by IBOs you sponsor. PV BV Performance Point Value (PV) Assigned to every AMWAY product. Business Volume (BV) A dollar value for every product. Bonus Schedule calculated monthly You accumulate PV and BV on the products you order, as well as those ordered by your downline IBOs and customers. PV determines your bonus percentage. The more PV you earn monthly, the higher your percentage bracket. BV determines the dollar amount that your percent of bonus is based on. Because bonuses are calculated monthly, PV/BV accumulates only in the month it is earned. Balances are not carried forward from month to month. Bonus Payments For any calendar month in which a Monthly Performance Bonus is earned, payment is issued on the 15th of the following month. Bonus checks are mailed when the amount is $10 or more ($3 or more for your first bonus check only). Lesser amounts are accumulated until they reach this minimum. 4 Earning Your Fast Track Rewards FAST TRACK INCENTIVE PROGRAM TIPS 1. Make a list of customers and prospects who could benefit from the great products you have to offer. (Use the form on page 14 under the Retailing tab to create your list.) 2. Talk to each person on your list and suggest a selection of great products (see examples on page 5) that fill their needs. Ask for the sale. (More instruction on making the sale is under the Retailing tab.) With qualifying orders, your customers get free shipping. 3. Follow up regularly with your customers to make sure they re satisfied, introduce them to new products, and gain repeat sales. 4. Sponsor three new IBOs within 90 days of your registration and help each of them generate 150 PV, with at least 50 PV from retail sales so they can earn their Fast Track Program rewards too! 6 Product Profitability In the Products section, look for this notebook to see how profitable each product line can be for you. PROFITABILITY BY PRODUCT CATEGORY AMWAY products are divided into three categories: Product Category Available Retail Margin* PV/BV Most IBOs build their retail business by focusing on these top two categories. 1. Win 35% highest All Win products come from the NUTRILITE and ARTISTRY brands. Win products have the highest Available Retail Margin and PV/BV. 2. Complement 15 35% Includes some NUTRILITE and ARTISTRY products. 3. Support 5 20% Support products offer a way to build your monthly PV/BV with products you and your customers use every day. lowest *When you sell products at Suggested Retail Prices. 7 Income and Bonuses Immediate Income Through available retail margin The fastest way you can earn income is by selling products to customers at retail price. Retail Price IBO Cost Retail Margin Amway will send you a check for Retail Margin earned over $50 on an individual customer order. Retail Margin of $50 or less will be included with your Monthly Performance Bonus. Monthly and Annual Bonuses AND Awards Since 1959, Amway has paid more than $30 billion in bonuses and incentives to distributors more than any other business in the direct selling industry.* (And that doesn t include the money earned by IBOs when selling the products at retail!) As you build your business through selling products and sponsoring other IBOs to do the same, you may earn: Monthly Performance Bonuses based on your sales volume. Performance and Leadership Bonuses are paid in addition to the Retail Margin you can earn. Monthly and annual Leadership Bonuses based on the sales of your downline. As your sales volume increases and the sales volume of your downline the cash awards and business incentives increase. 8 Ongoing Bonus Calculations Illustration Key You IBOs you sponsor/ train/support With 3 Downline IBOs Assume that in one month: You reach 150 PV and $300 in BV from product purchased for yourself and your customers. 3 IBOs in your downline do the same. Personal Performance Bonus Your group PV is 600 (150 personal plus 450 from your personally sponsored downline). Your Performance Bonus is 9% (see chart on page 2). You have 5 customers* each downline IBO has 5 customers* $300 Personal BV X 9% Performance Bonus $27 Personal Performance Bonus Your Differential Bonus You can earn another monthly bonus, called a Differential Bonus, based on the sales of IBOs you ve sponsored. (To qualify, you need to meet the Customer Volume Requirement.*) In this example, based on the performance of your personally sponsored downline IBOs, you will earn: $300 in Group BV (the difference between your 9% bonus X 6% level and your downline s 3% bonus level) $18 Differential Bonus x 3 downlines = $54 Your total bonus $27 Personal Performance Bonus + $54 from downline s performance $81 paid to you! *To meet the Customer Volume rule, you must do one of the following: Have at least one sale to each of 10 different retail customers, or Have at least 50 PV of sales to any number of retail customers. Personal Performance Bonus Your group PV is 1,050 (150 personal plus 900 from your personally sponsored downline). Your Performance Bonus is 12% (see chart on page 2). $300 Personal BV X 12% Performance Bonus $36 Personal Performance Bonus Your Differential Bonus Your Differential Bonus is based on the sales of IBOs you ve sponsored. (To qualify, you need to meet the Customer Volume Requirement.*) In this example you will earn: $300 in Group BV (the difference between your 9% bonus X 9% level and your downline s 3% bonus level) $27 Differential Bonus x 6 downlines = $162 Your total bonus $36 Personal Performance Bonus + $162 from downline s performance $198 paid to you! The AMWAY opportunity is unlimited, but individual results vary. The average monthly gross income of active IBOs was $115 (U.S.) and $181 (Canada). Approximately 66% of all IBOs of record were found to be active, based on an independent survey conducted in An active IBO is one who attempted to make a retail sale, presented the IBO compensation plan, received bonus money, or attended a company or IBO meeting during the survey year. Gross income means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of goods sold, plus the amount of Performance Bonus retained. There may be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to income in the first years of operation. Money & Rewards 9
