This approach shifts both Baker & Taylor and their publishing partners to a Zero Inventory model in the library channel and Just-in-Time inventory model in retail and online channels based on real-time customer orders. Low Risk Printing means lower overall costs for publishers. Using Digital Print Solutions, a publisher provides Baker & Taylor with prepublication files that are ingested at Bookmasters and printed based on Baker & Taylor customer orders. Short-Run Digital Replenishment stops your inventory guessing games by printing slowermoving titles as needed. We can print and ship directly to your warehouse in quantities ranging from a handful to 1,000 or more. Physical And Virtual Inventory Fulfillment gives publishers options. Orders are filled using Bookmasters high quality, toner-based and inkjet PTO equipment. Baker & Taylor/Bookmasters Digital Print Solutions PTO manufacturing is available for black and white, integrated color and full-color printing needs. A wide variety of paper choices, cover finishes and trim sizes are available. PTO can be combined with short run digital print orders to satisfy a publisher s complete need.

6 6 BAKER & TAYLOR S RETAIL SERVICES STEPS NEW STORE PROGRAM works with independent bookstores as they open a new store or expand their current location. In order to provide the best possible opening day assortment, we work with the bookseller to understand their vision, community and store size. Utilizing Baker & Taylor s extensive database of purchases, as well as information from publishers, we compile a recommended title list to fit the store s profile. This list is reviewed by the store and approved. Then it s pick, pack and ship by subject to facilitate filling the shelves with ease. Finally, we send an inventory list to be uploaded in the stores POS system. A new bookstore is ready to open! PROMOTIONS FOR INDIE BOOKSTORES Our sales team offers regular promotions to bookstores, working with publishers to develop offers that pass on extra savings to stores.
