1 Assessment Task for Stage 6: HSC Subject: Business Studies Student s Name: Teacher s Name: Assessment Task No. 3 Due Date: 15 th June 2016 Weighting 30% THIS TASK NOTIFICATION CAN BE FOUND ON THE COLLEGE WEBSITE UNDER THE LEARNING AND TEACHING TAB OR IN THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM Submission Instructions Submit the task by placing it in the Assessment Bin at the Student Foyer by 9:00am This cover sheet must be attached to the task. Times New Roman 12 point font is to be used. Penalty for non attendance on day of assessment or late submission o Assessments submitted after 9.00am on the due date will immediately receive a 50% mark penalty of the achieved mark. o Assessments submitted after 9.00am on the next day will receive a zero mark pending Illness/Misadventure certification and will still have to submit the task to fulfil the requirements of the course. A student who fails to present / perform at the allocated time will be awarded a zero and a revised date for the presentation / performance. PLEASE NOTE: THIS TASK WILL NOT BE ASSESSED BY YOUR TEACHER UNLESS YOU HAVE ASSESSED YOUR PERFORMANCE BY HIGHLIGHTING OR TICKING THE APPROPRIATE BOXES ON THE ASSESSMENT CRITERIA. The appropriate criteria should be attached to the front of each section. 2 TASK DETAILS 1. Description of the Task Part A 10% You are asked to write a 600 word article for the magazine Business Weekly. The article must address the following questions: Describe the Competition and Consumer Act Explain how the Australian Commission (A.C.C.C.) enforces this Act with reference to specific current examples. Current examples can be found on the A.C.C.C. website. Part B 20% You are asked to investigate the variety of promotional strategies used by Qantas and ONE other business in You are asked to write an 800 word extended response answering the following question: Assess the importance of using a mix of promotional strategies in In your answer you will be assessed on how well you: demonstrate knowledge and understanding relevant to the question apply relevant business case study/studies and contemporary business issues communicate using relevant business terminology and concepts present a sustained, logical and cohesive response.
