1 Official Tourme Guide Handbook Congratulations on becoming an official Tourme Guide! This document offers an explanation of our services and application. Please save this document and refer to it when you need a refresher of the tour features we offer. Tourme Guide is an exclusive application designed for guides in the tourme network. Create unique and interesting tours based on the things you care about and share that knowledge and expertise with wanting and waiting tourme users. Set the price, connect with travelers, and schedule tours on your time. No more rigid routes and tight schedules, Tourme for Guides allows you to ditch the office and be your own boss. 1

3 Instant Tours Tour Types Instant tours are an informative Point-A-to-Point-B vehicle guided experience. Unlike a taxi or Uber service, these tours are charged by the hour which allow our guides to give flexible and relaxing tours with recommendations, information and advice. Users are paying for the tour, i.e. your information and recommendations, not for the ride. To be available for instant tours you must first submit your vehicle info for approval on your profile. (Users will not be able to see this info). If you are unsure about the rules in your area regarding vehicle guided tours, please check with your local tourism or travel board or contact a tourme representative. Once you are approved for instant tours, you will have the option to turn on your instant availability. Toggle instant availability to ON in the Dashboard to begin accepting Instant Tour bookings through our Maps integration. Make sure you have allowed for Push Notifications, as this is how you will be notified when users are requesting a tour in your area. Simply accept the tour and Google Maps will share their pick-up and drop-off locations. To begin an instant tour, click Start Tour as soon as the travelers have entered the vehicle. Press End Tour when the travelers exit the vehicle. This is how we calculate the price of the tour. If you do not start and end the tour properly the price will be affected. The price of the Instant Tour is based on an hourly rate set by the company and charges the user per minute. The base rate varies by location based on the cost of living. Check you app for details. Find a Guide Find a Guide is a feature that allows users to search for local guides based on interest, activity level and availability. If you are available for these flexible, hourly tours, users will be able to see your profile and may contact you for a tour. If you accept their request, you can chat with the guest and agree on a time and location to meet for casual walking tours. These can be anything from general city and culture tours, to fun nightlife and restaurant tours, to impromptu outdoor adventures. Users can extend the trip and keep on going. They will be charged at the end of the tour based on the hourly rate which is set by tourme. If you would like to use your vehicle for Find a Guide tours it 3
4 must be approved by the company. Rates vary by location and are based on the cost of living. Check you app for details. Find a Tour Arguably the best feature of the app is the Add a Tour. Add new excursions using the step-by-step tour builder and create your own experience. We encourage creativity and weirdness! Give your tour an eye-catching name and description, upload fun photos of the tour route, and set the maximum capacity for your tours. Keep in mind that these tours are private tours, meaning you will only book one group per tour. Group sizes are capped at 8 people, but if for instance your vehicle only holds 4 people, or you can only take 4 people to a particular location, set your maximum capacity accordingly. Pricing You are in charge of setting the price for the Find a Tour and Shore Excursion features. This price should be based on the hourly walking tour rate in your area. The price should be calculated per group, not per person, and for the duration of the tour, not per hour. Tourme reserves the right to reject a tour based on the price you set and may reach out to you at anytime to resolve a pricing issue. If you try to change the price once it has been approved by backoffice, the tour will return to pending status and we will be reviewed by the Tourme staff. Extra Costs Extra costs like museum tickets, entrance fees, cover charges, equipment rentals, etc. should not be factored into the overall price as this will vary based on the number of guests in your group. There is an area to include extra costs. This should be per person. So if for instance bike rentals are $7, include $7 Bike Rentals per person in the Extra Cost area. These are costs which the users will need to be able to pay separately, so let them know if they need to bring cash for cash-only charges. Tour Times The Tour Duration should be an accurate representation of the time of your tour. If you have a new tour, test it out on your friends or take the tour yourself to accurately time your tour including stops or scheduled breaks for info and photos or exploring. 4
5 The Available Start Times should be the times you can begin the tour. So if for instance your tour is 4 hours long, you are able to create multiple start times. For example, one could begin at 9 am and end at 1 pm, your second group could start at 2 pm and end at 6 pm. Your available start times being 9 am and 2 pm. Approval Submit your tour to the back office for approval (no pressure, we re just checking that you and your guests are getting a fair and memorable experience) and then begin accepting bookings through the app. You will receive push notifications as well as verifications when your tours are accepted by back office. Shore Excursions Shore Excursions are a fun and unique feature welcome to guides and tourists in cruise port areas. Check our cruise ship database to see the arrival and departure times of cruises docking in your area. Build your Shore Excursions in the add a tour function, but be sure the select *this is a shore excursion* when making your tour. We require that these tours return passengers to their ship at least an hour before their scheduled departure time. Make sure that you factor in the time to get the tourist back to the port in your total tour duration time. Your tourists cruise ship info will be viewable in the Dashboard. Profile App Features Your profile is how users will discover your tours. Your profile must be filled out in order to be approved as a Guide, but for the benefit of your success, we suggest going beyond the requirement and providing a clear and interesting representation of yourself and the kind of experiences which tourists can expect to have with you. This may give you a competitive edge in your market and help you build your tourme guide platform. Be sure to list your specialties and hobbies as these create tags which will help users find your profile. Your description could tell tourists more about your experience living in your town, information about your specialties and hobbies or an overview of your experience as a guide. We suggest including a clear and recent picture of yourself. 5
6 *Users will not be able to see your personal information, like address, personal identification number or phone number. Shared Accounts Many of our Guides have partners or friends with whom they would like to give shared tours. Please create and book your tours on one account. As an independent contractor it will be your responsibility to decide how to split the commision. We currently do not provide linked accounts. Ratings Tourme uses a 5 star rating system for users to rate the quality of their tour guide and tour as well as leave comments about their experience. Your overall rating will appear on your profile and users may make their decision based on your reviews and star rating. Encourage your guests to leave you a rating at the end of your tours to help build your profile. Dashboard The Dashboard viewers allows you to view Upcoming Tours to get all the details on your scheduled bookings in one place, including pick-up locations, traveler info, and price. Chat with your travelers to square away the details and create a memorable experience tailored directly to their interests. This means no more zombie followers and anxious children. You take them the places they want to see and adapt your preferred route and local knowledge to their interests, ensuring a fun time for them and you. Availability Calendar From the built-in availability calendar, you can set the dates and times you would like to be available for tours days or even months in advance, giving you ultimate control of your time with tourme. Blackout holidays or fit your touring schedule around other jobs or time commitments, or simply take a break, remember, you re the boss. Payment Users will pay for their tours directly in their Tourme app. You will never collect money directly from the users. For extra costs like museum tickets, users can pay the fees themselves online in advance or at the ticket booth. This is the breakdown of payment: 20% Tourme Commission 6
7 3.5% Processing Fee 2.0% Marketing Fee 74.5% For Services Rendered You will receive 74.5% of the total cost of the tours you offer. You will be paid directly from the company by direct deposit once a week. You will provide your direct deposit info directly in the app. Taxes Tourme Guides are Independent Contractors, so it is their responsibility to obtain a local tax i.d. Tourme collects sales tax from the total cost of the tour. We may opt to remit the collected sales taxes directly to the guide at which point they become responsible to remit such taxes to the local tax office. US residents should file a 1099 tax form. If you are unsure how to claim you earnings in your area, check with a local government office. *See VAT. Insurance Tourme has liability insurance which covers guides and tourist that are injured during an official tour which had been booked through the application and during the scheduled hours of those tours. We do not provide personal insurance packages to guides. Waivers If you are creating tours which may pose a potential threat, such as hiking, boating, climbing, surfing etc., please consider having your tourists sign a waiver before commiting to your tours. Check with your local parks and recreation department for permit requirements. Unlicensed Guides Tour Guide Licensure Tourme does not require guides to be licensed to apply. However, some areas may require guides to be licensed in order to give certain types of tours. As an independent contractor it is your responsibility to see how local licensing policies affect your ability to operate tours. Note that many cities that DO have laws prohibiting tours, only block tour guides from giving tours in official public areas like museums, monuments and historical sites. This means you would still be allowed 7
8 to give casual city tours, restaurant and bar tours, cultural experience tours and outdoor adventures, etc. Licensed Guides If you are already licensed and understand the rules and regulations, you are free to take tourme users into licensed-guide only areas. Check with your local tourism board for licensing requirements and regulations. United States National Parks The US National Parks Service has different laws regarding private tours and laws may vary from park to park. Some may require a Commercial User Authorization to legally give tours. As an independent contractor it is your responsibility to obtain a user authorization and report tourist number to the park. Please contact your National Park officials for more information before creating park tours. Tourme liability insurance meets the requirements for the park systems so be sure to include that information in your application. Here is a directory to the National Parks Services: *For more information regarding tour guiding rules and regulations in national parks in your country, please check with your local forestry and wildlife or park management offices. Advertising for other companies Marketing and Advertising Under no circumstance should you use your tourme profile to advertise for other tour guide services that will not be booked through the app. If you direct users from our site to a third party service, your account will be suspended while we investigate the issue which may lead to the canceling of your tourguide account and you will be unable to create future accounts. Personal Marketing and Promotion As an official tourme guide, you are welcome to promote and market your guide profile to users. If you are interested in official promotional materials such as business cards or stickers, please our marketing department sales@tourme.com for more info. However, you must refer people to the app, not a third-party website or account. Failure to comply will result in the suspension and possible cancellation of your account. 8
