Short Profile of Pesona Dunia Tour Pesona Dunia Tour is one of the travel agencies in Indonesia which is located on Jl. Ronggowarsito 82 Surakarta. The company was founded by Tan Henry in January 7, With his partner, Trifena Tinawaty, he runs this agency in providing airline and train tickets reservation service, tour package service, hotel reservation service, car rental and other needs in travelling. Supported by the fact that more and more people are traveling domestic and abroad, the company provides its customers with many level of travel services by using online reservation system. The online reservation services providing many hotels worldwide and hotels in Indonesia, flight reservations for international and domestic tickets, tour planning and also car rental makes its customers be able to book, pay, and get instant confirmations for their needs accurately. Pesona Dunia Tour has become the member of National travel organization named ASITA for 14 years. ASITA or Association of The Indonesian Tour and Travel Agencies is the only legally acknowledged non-profit alliance of Indonesian travel entrepreneurships which operates under the RI Law No. 9/ 1990 regarding tourism, and which provides headship to the communal efforts of Indonesian travel agencies. The membership proves that the company is a reliable travel agency in Indonesia. The company ensures to always give the best, the fastest and the most accurate services to its customers, anytime and anywhere. Pesona Dunia Tour has vision and mission to support and maintain its performance in giving services for its customers. The company s vision is to be the biggest travel agency in Indonesia and to be able to provide the fastest and the best professional services at the highest capability and credibility. Besides, the company s mission is to provide the fastest services to customers in order to ensure customers 3

2 4 satisfaction both in business and tour journeys, and to build mutually profitable business for its networks and colleagues. Management of Pesona Dunia Tour Tan Henry runs this business for 14 years with his partner, Trifena Tinawaty. During that time, they have their own responsibilities and job duties, Tan Henry as the Chairman & C.E.O and Trifena Tinawaty as the Operating & Financial Manager. Tan Henry as the Chairman & C.E.O As the founder of the company in 2002, he has been actively involved ever since, dealing with the company's development. The job duties involve: a. Managing the reliance of clients as well as handling management of the company s growth b. Making decisions and policies of the company c. Controlling the performance of the employee Trifena Tinawaty as the Operating & Financial Manager The job duties involve: a. Managing financial of the company such as paying for each invoice/bill from other companies, reminding customers in payment, reporting annual financial report to the C.E.O, etc b. Making all reservations of customers such as air ticket, hotel, train ticket, tour packages, etc c. Making contract with other companies such as hotels, etc d. Maintaining and improving promotion media of the product from the company e. Answering telephone calls and replying messages from customers In this institution, I did my internship under Ms Trifena Tinawaty s control. As my supervisor, Ms Trifena Tinawaty always controlled my progress in translating the texts and my work in helping this business. My duty in this internship was helping this institution to maintain and improve the promotion media in order to increase the selling of its products.

3 5 Services of Pesona Dunia Tour Pesona Dunia Tour has several services to assist its customers in fulfilling their needs by providing airline and train tickets reservation service, tour package service, hotel reservation service, car rental and other needs of anyone in travelling. Airlines and Train Tickets Reservation Pesona Dunia Tour provides airlines ticket reservation for both domestic and international airlines. The company has cooperated exclusively with many domestic airlines, such as Garuda, Citilink, Lion Air, Batavia Air, Sriwijaya and many others. They also maintain a good relation with international airlines such as Malaysia Airline, Lufthansa, KLM, Royal Brunei, Singapore Airlines, and Silk Air. The company services for both direct and indirect order of customers and facilitates customer in obtaining ticket with the lowest price and choosing seat, etc. In the airlines ticket reservation, the company is suppoerted by online reservation system which facilitates operator to service customers easily and quickly. Domestic Airlines: International Airlines: Besides, Pesona Dunia Tour has also cooperated with PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) in online train ticket reservation. The company ensures that customers will get train ticket as cheap and fast as possible without having to queue in station.

4 6 Hotel Reservation Pesona Dunia Tour has cooperated with many hotels in Indonesia and aboard. The company facilitates customers in obtaining hotel room with a variety of hotel classes and facilities which are suitable with their needs. The hotel reservation service is also supported by online reervation system so that customers will be able to get their hotel room quickly and easily then continue to enjoy their journey without bothering in reservation. Tour Packages The company offers many kinds of tour packages for both domestic and international destinations. The company also provides educational tour packages for Primary School, Secondary School and University students. Besides, the company offers several high-attractive tour packages with low budget and provides tour packages for travelling or business purposes to aboard for individual or group tour. The tour packages offered have included accommodation, for example is the tour to Singapore Universal Studio which includes air ticket and lodging. Many international destinations are offered such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Europe etc, and domestic destinations as well as Bali, Bandung, Lombok, Bromo, Karimunjawa etc. The tour package service is one of the best services to customers in facilitating their business or travelling tours to be much enjoyable. Car Rental The company also provides car rental such as Avanza, Kijang Innova etc, which are ready to rent by customers who want to go anywhere, but only after approving the agreement and certain condition. Facebook Facebook is one of the best places to start as a travel agent in social media. It has the maximum number of users and people all around the world commonly used it on a daily basis. Many travel agencies already use Facebook as their primary target market. Thus, Pesona Dunia Tour also uses Facebook in marketing their product. The company updates their newest information such as airlines ticket promoting. Blackberry Messenger Blackberry Messenger or BBM is one of the most well known social media recently. It might not be as popular as Facebook, but it is certainly used by people looking for up-to-date information and also chatting personally with other people. Online Information Media Online information will help Pesona Dunia Tour to get up-to-date information relating to its business, such as the latest flight ticket prices, hotel voucher promotion, etc. By getting up-to-date information, the company will be able to share the up-to-date information to its customers. Therefore, it will help the company in keeping its credibility. Gmail Gmail stands for Google Mail, is a media having function like sending and receiving . Pesona Dunia Tour does not only use Gmail to send tickets to customers and receive invoices from colleagues, but also to get flight ticket promotions or hotel voucher promotions. Websites Nowadays, many travel agencies have established websites to promote their services. Website plays an important role in mediating between customers and company as a channel for information and business transaction. Pesona Dunia Tour is one of the travel agencies which have established website in promoting and providing such online brochure in the website which can be accessed anytime. Unfortunately, the website is only having old information and promotion so that the website is not functioning properly right now. Business Plans of Pesona Dunia Tour A business plan is required to help a company in managing the business more effectively in the future.
