13 TSKI BDS REASONS FOR BEING: WE REALIZED THAT CREDIT ALONE is not the only solution on improving the quality of life of the clients. Improved business will have a greater impact on the lives of clients as well as the community, through job creation. It will lead to better portfolio quality and ensure the Sustainability of the organization. Thus the creation of the BDS department in We move beyond microfinance.

14 PAINS: TSKI BDS 8.1) The absence of buy-in of the stakeholders will endanger the effective implementation. 8.2) Support of the microfinance operation must be highly obtained to ensure downloading of services for better advocacy and promotion. 8.3) Low appreciation of microfinance clients on the importance of the BDS in improving its business. 8.4) Cost implication on the institution. 8.5) Biggest challenge was on the sustainability of the BDS unit after the grant from Fundacion CODESPA was terminated. It experienced continued operational losses until the staff complement had been streamlined. To date its being considered as a profit center rather than a support unit.
