1 Fundraising Kickoff Fall 2016 Wreath & Popcorn Sales 1 Important Dates Popcorn Sales Fundraiser Dates Start: Friday, September 23, 5pm End: Sunday, October 30, 2016 Wreath Sales Fundraiser Dates Start: Friday, September 23, 2016 End: Sunday, October 30,

2 Fundraising Benefits Operating Revenue for the Troop Annual expenses for the troop are a minimum of $3000 Troop Re-charter, Advancement, Camping, Picnics, Holiday Party, Etc. Bottom line, we either make a commitment to fundraising the necessary troop income for the year, or the cost of the activities put a heavier burden on the scout families. 3 Fundraising Restructure 2016 As we evolve as a Troop, the overall focus and needs change. Camping expenses put more burden on families, therefore, this year the fundraising program is restructuring the percentages to allow the scouts to earn more in their scout accounts, and still allow the troop enough operating funds for overall expenses. Past years profit split: 10% scouts and 29% troop (25% pack) 2016 profit split: Troop 20% Scouts 19% for popcorn sales and 15% for wreath sales 4 2

3 Troop 692 Sales Goals 2016 Troop Overall Fundraiser Sales Goal based on the new profit structure is $15,000 Each scout will have a total fundraiser sales goal of $1000 for us to fundraise enough to cover the 2016 troop operating expenses and be able to add some new fun activities Total goal can be any combination of wreath and popcorn sales; including credit from the store front sales where they participate Guaranteed Scout account rate: 19% popcorn and 15% wreaths Example: Scout sells their goal of $1000 : wreaths ($300) and popcorn ($700) Wreaths: $300 * 0.35 = $105 total profit ($60 Troop / $45 Scout) Popcorn: $700 * 0.39 = $273 total profit ($140 Troop / $133 Scout) In this example, the sales would net a total of $378 in profit. $200 would be earned for the Troop expenses $178 would go into your scout account!!!! (vs 2015 it would have been $100) Scouts should always be in Uniform when selling 5 Wreath Sales Product Info We will be offering all of the products in the sales brochure this year with the following exceptions Balsam wreath sizes limited to the following sizes 25 (largest margin) We will NOT be offering the spruce tops All other products in the NEW flyer will be available to sell In addition, there are mail order items available for sending gifts or to allow out of state friends and relatives the ability to purchase 6 3
