Module #4 Traffic Tornados

The Traffic Truth Traffic is one of THE most important parts of an online business; The more traffic you can drive to your page, the more sales you will make; There are literally HUNDREDS of different ways to drive traffic online and I ve used most of them in my business but right now I only rely on ONE. That s what I want to teach you in this module; You should focus your attention on making your sales page convert as high as possible and leave the traffic driving to your affiliates; You can learn and implement other traffic methods as you go on, at a later date; The important thing is that you are constantly looking for and recruiting new affiliates. This must never stop.

What Are Affiliates? Affiliates (sometimes referred to as JV Partners) are other marketers who make money by promoting other people s products in exchange for commissions; We are going to build an entire army of affiliates who can promote your products like a silent sales force ; Every single day, week and month, your affiliates will be driving traffic into your funnel and generating sales; Around 90% of the income in my business is generated by affiliates; Some of these affiliates will be big name marketers with their own products, while others operate under the radar, secretly making a fortune by promoting other people s products with traffic strategies.

Advantages Of Using Affiliates & JV Partners Hands-free traffic; Fast; Easy; Targeted traffic; High-converting; Scaleable; Cheap.

Launch vs Release A Product Launch is where you set a date that you re going to release your product and you arrange it with all of your affiliates and JV partners that they will all promote your product over a period of a couple of weeks, often making thousands of sales before closing the product down; Alternatively you can just Release your product and float it out into the market quietly, attracting affiliates to begin promoting it one-by-one as soon as it becomes available. The key here is to ensure that you are consistently bringing new affiliates on-board.

Stand Out To Your Affiliates Great product, which over-delivers to the customer; High conversion rates and great sales materials; High commissions (50% or more); Bonuses and prizes for the best-performing affiliates. Run regular competitions and make promoting your products FUN; Make it easy to promote with great promotional tools; Regular, fast and RELIABLE payments; What else can you offer (on top of commissions)?

WIIFM = What s In It For Me? The BIG Question: WIIFM? There are literally thousands of products out there, just like yours, so you ll have to compete for a top promotional spot; Especially if they don t know you or the quality of your products; Look beyond the commissions and find other ways to add value to a potential affiliate s life/business; If you can answer the WIIFM question then you can make a promotion attractive to affiliates and get lots of people on-board.

Affiliate Attraction Build your affiliate webpage and affiliate tools; Create an affiliate spreadsheet; Write a short JV ; Find the affiliates online; Put the affiliates information in your spreadsheet; Contact all affiliates; Follow up with all affiliates.

Affiliate Recruitment & Management I like to remain organized and keep a spreadsheet or database of affiliates, so that I know who I have worked with or spoken to; This is a very simple document which consists of a number of main columns, into which I can put all of the details of my affiliates (name, contact info, website); I also have three columns which allow me to track who I have contacted, who I have followed up with, who has replied and who has said Yes/No; This spreadsheet is designed so that you won t lose touch with the affiliates that you have identified, contacted, recruited or who have promoted; It s important that we don t pester or annoy our potential affiliates; I ll include a template of this spreadsheet with this webinar.

Your JV Invitation Your first line of contact with your potential affiliates will be via , Facebook or a Support Desk; You need to write a short, compelling and to-the-point message which you can send them; It needs to grab their attention, make them sit up and listen, preferably make them smile/laugh and get them to WANT to click onto your JV/affiliate page; The key is to keep it short, sweet and don t bore them. The important details should be on your affiliate page; You should also avoid being TOO pitchy upfront. Just be casual, relaxed and calm. Try to get a conversation and a relationship going with them FIRST.

Finding Your Affiliates So many people find it difficult to get affiliates but you can actually do it in a couple of basic steps; Firstly, just go and search on Google for your niche. There will be hundreds of thousands of blogs, websites, squeeze pages and sales pages in the search results; Those are ALL you first potential affiliate. Hundreds, thousands or hundreds of thousands of people who have an active target audience who are searching them out on Google; Look through the results for blogs, squeeze pages or anything; Look to see if those sites have got newsletter forms, opt-in forms, banner adverts, reviews of products, etc.

Finding Your Affiliates You have a good idea how many people are searching for your niche each month, so you can probably guess how many people are clicking onto the websites in the first 1-5 pages of Google; Those are your target customers and these are the websites which have them; Look around for a contact form or address and add the details to your spreadsheet. Next you want to look in the forums that are online in your particular niche. Look for people who post regular, good advice and have a signature on their forum post which points to a website; These are likely to be there to sell their products. If they have an online business then they will have a list or a blog too. Dig out their contact details.

Finding Your Affiliates If you re in the IM niche, then you can obviously contact anyone who looks like they have a list on the Warrior Forum; You can also look in the Warrior Forum where there is a JV and Affiliate section; The WF has marketers in almost every niche you can imagine, so you can make a post about your product there and people can contact you if they are in your niche; I d also recommend joining a website called JVNotifyPro.com, where there are also marketers in a variety of different niche markets too; It s important to remember that other marketers in your niche, who you consider to be competition are actually your best potential partners; If someone is selling a product similar to yours, then they probably have a list of customers in your niche and they WILL promote your product.

Finding Your Affiliates People are always looking for more training and more information in every niche so they will still purchase your product; The key to finding potential affiliates online is to remember that anyone with any kind of web presence (blog, FB page/group, list, sales page, forum etc) is a potential affiliate; They have the online real estate and the traffic to promote you, so you just have to contact them with a compelling enough offer; Implement the two or three simple steps that I ve just given you and you will easily be able to populate your spreadsheet with dozens or potentially even hundreds of potential affiliates.

Finding Your Affiliates You could also potentially consider working with a JV broker or JV manager; These are well-connected marketers (usually within the IM niche) who are able to recruit your affiliates for you; Normally charge an upfront fee ($1,000 - $5,000) and also take 10% of the gross revenue of the profit; It s a good idea if you find the right JV manager, but it s never a cheap solution and usually only works in the IM niche.

Google; Niche forums; Warrior Forum; Facebook; JV Broker/Manager (optional). The Affiliate Hideouts

Using Your Spreadsheet Make sure that you are constantly putting your potential affiliates details into your spreadsheet as you navigate across the Internet; You want to look for any means of contacting them and make notes about anything in particular that you like about their websites or their marketing style; Make a note of as much information as you can about them, their products and their business and this will come in useful when you begin contacting them; I would usually look to fill the spreadsheet with about 50 potential affiliates, initially, and then begin contacting them.

Contact Your Potential Affiliates Once you have a reasonable number of possible partners, you should now make your way down through the spreadsheet and send each of them your JV which we wrote earlier; This is a simple job of copying and pasting the message into s, contact forms or support tickets, depending on the affiliate s available contact method; It s also a good idea to personalize each message a little bit, with their name and perhaps a line or two which reflects their website, style or story; If you can inject a little bit of personalization into each message, this will help as they will feel that it was less cut & paste ; As you contact each of your affiliates, make sure that you mark the date in the Contact #1 column of the spreadsheet so that you know it has been done.

Follow-Up With ALL Affiliates Once you ve contacted all of your initial affiliates, you need to follow up with them in two ways; Wait a couple of days to give people a chance to respond; Contact the affiliates who replied and asked for more information; Contact the affiliates who replied and said Yes! I want to promote and give them everything that they need; Contact the affiliates who didn t reply and just give them a little nudge ; It s important not to send them the same message again, but just a quick 2-3 line reminder or check-up will be fine; You can now work with the affiliates who said yes, to make sure that they have everything that they need from you.

Rinse & Repeat Once you ve done this a couple of times, it s really just a rinse and repeat process; You should be constantly looking for new affiliates, contacting them, following up with those who don t reply and then working with those who do on building a promotion; I would message an affiliate up to three times if they don t reply. On the final message just ask them to let you know if they are uninterested so that you don t contact them again. It would also be useful to find out why they aren t interested, in case there is something putting affiliates off.

Final Thoughts Recruiting affiliates is simple but not easy. It s important to just keep working at it. You will improve with time and it all starts with just finding your first affiliate; Don t be surprised or offended if affiliates want to review your product before they promote it. They want to look after their list; Find other ways to add value beyond the commissions and prizes; Never stop looking for affiliates; Try and get affiliates to opt-in to your Affiliate list so you can easily them all with competitions and announcements; Focus on building a relationship with people first by attending events and meeting them, interviewing them, buying their products, sending them simple gifts and adding value and perhaps ask them for their opinion before a promotion.
