10 MONEY MATTERS What is ACH? ACH stands for Automated Clearing House and refers to an electronic banking network for financial transactions in the United States. These transactions include debit and credit entries and are common to facilitate payment such as direct deposit, insurance premiums, mortgage payments, or income tax rebates. Does my Troop have to have a bank account to participate in ACH? Yes. Every troop is required to have a bank account, opened with the Service Unit Money Manager, set up under the Council s tax ID. If a Troop does not currently have a bank account, please contact the Service Unit Money Manager immediately. Follow the three steps below for a worry-free ACH payment: 1. By October 1, confirm your Troop bank account is on file with Council through your Service Unit Money Manager with a current ACH Electronic Debit/Credit Authorization Form 2. Beginning on October 15, check your Troop bank account information in M2 for accuracy 3. As money is collected during the sale, deposit frequently into your Troop account. Promptly depositing checks will help to reduce the likelihood of bounced checks. 4. By October 31, 2018, the amount that council will withdraw from your troop bank account can be viewed in M2 under Banking/Payments. IMPORTANT! Failing to deposit all Fall Product proceeds into your Troop bank account in time for the November 2 ACH payment withdrawal, will likely result in overdraft fees levied by your bank or the ACH payment withdrawal attempt will fail. In either case, your troop will be unable to take delivery of your Troop s Fall Product items until Council is able to collect your Fall Product payment. If your Troop bank account changes and the Troop bank account information Council has on file is no longer valid, you must contact Council within 3 days of the change. Council will be collecting payments from Troops via ACH electronic payment on the following schedule: Nov. 2, ACH withdrawal / reimbursement amount due to Council or Troop Nov. 14, ACH for extended sales reimbursements 10

11 In the Fall Product Program, we use the M2 Media s online platform to manage the program. Girls will each have their own storefront where their supporters can support your troop and the council by buying magazines, nut and candy. Once you are entered into the M2 system, new Troop Fall Product Chairs will receive an from the system that will include your login information with a temporary password. M2 MEDIA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM If you are returning as the Troop s Fall Product Program Chair, your login and password will remain the same. If you need a password reset, please reach out to your SU Fall Product Sale Chair or Judy Johnson (jjohnson@gscnc.org). When you visit click on VOLUNTEER and select TROOP LEADER/PRODUCT SALES. If you are working with multiple troops or roles, all can be accessed with a single login. When you login for the first time, there is a troop training video to watch. When completed, you will be prompted to build your avatar and enter parent addresses. You should send an blast to the families which will give them the link to the system and instructions on how to set up their Girl Scout s store front. When set up is complete, you will be at your troop s dashboard. For those with multiple troops, there is a toggle where you can switch between troops. 11

12 M2 MEDIA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM From the Troop s Dashboard, you can see, at a glance, how the troop is doing compared to last year. There are many features that make managing a Troop s Fall Product Program quick and easy! From your dashboard you can: Send messages to the families See which girls have created their Avatar and activated their campaign Identify who has earned their personalized avatar patch or who is close and could use encouragement After a troop vote, choose your reward plan. Options are to: OPT IN for rewards and earn 10% of total sales plus individual girl rewards item OPT OUT of rewards and earn 15% of total sales plus patches only. You can view and verify that your troop banking information is correct and view reports Girl s in-person orders need to be entered and ordered, but the GOOD news is families should enter those orders straight from the girl s order form. Print your T2/Delivery Ticket Please Note: There are program options pictured on this screenshot that will not be available in the Nation s Capital Program. 12

13 There is a very small window to get In-Person Order Card sales into the system. Paper Order Entry will open on Oct. 20 and closes 11:59 pm, Oct. 22.
