ixo is the blockchain for The ixo Protocol enables any project to s COLLECT s VERIFY s TOKENIZE s IMPACT DATA into digital assets called IMPACT TOKENS SOCIETY ENVIRON -MENT ECONOMY Tokenizing Impact Data with Proof of Impact Copyright 2018 ixo.foundation. All rights reserved.

What is a blockchain? A shared ledger technology allowing any participant in a network to see THE system of record The record keepers are also participants in the network rather than a central notary: Transaction history reached through consensus Records in the ledger are immutable and secure This creates trust between transaction parties who may be adverse This makes blockchain a great tool for recording provenance of data and assets e.g. supply chain Copyright 2018 ixo.foundation. 16 Why blockchain? At the heart of blockchain is a data revolution breaking down silos and bringing data ownership and control back to the people Data Data Data Data Grant access to data Blockchain Ledger Shared data layer Database Database Database Database Database Database Request for permission to access data

What is tokenization? To create a digital asset from a real world asset that can be transacted P2P on a blockchain ledger Lower transaction costs cut out centralized intermediaries Greater trust and security from transaction finality Increased liquidity for real world assets through tokenization Tool for economic incentivization Tokens can include carbon credits (carbon tokens) and any other asset we wish to value and transact Copyright 2018 ixo.foundation. 18 WHAT WE VALUE AT IXO Impact Optimization The ixo blockchain offers: Provenance of impact data over time Transparency of funding Accountability for performance Attribution of results A new asset class for the Impact Economy Data sharing marketplace (with the Ocean Protocol)

Case Study COOKSTOVES & CARBON TOKENS Originating carbon tokens from IoT sensors

Carbon Tokens: Carbon Offsets as Digital Assets Protocol Project Developer Carbon & Impact Tokens Buyer Evaluation metrics according to Gold Standard methodology CARBON TOKEN HEALTH TOKEN P2P trading of carbon tokens and other Gold Standard certified impact tokens GENDER TOKEN Copyright 2018 ixo.foundation. 21 WHY THIS MATTERS REIMAGINING CARBON OFFSETS & SDGs Richer data = higher asset value of the tokens Better data to capture & measure co-benefits like health, gender, job creation Better liquidity and lower transaction costs through P2P trading Real-time payment of financial incentives to cookstove users

Supply chain use case application Fair trade from the first mile Protocol NGO records work conditions of fisherman according to 3 rd party standards e.g. Fair Trade Verified work conditions attributed to fisherman s DID Fisherman logs information about catch using his DID, attaches RFID tags to fish which contain data pointers to attributes about the catch and work conditions Supplier receives fish from fisherman, scans tags to record transfer

Supply chain use case application Fair trade from the first mile Consumers at the supermarket can check the tags to get a full history of the fish they are purchasing

Supply chain use case application Fair trade from the first mile Imagine by purchasing and scanning the tag on food, you earn Fair Trade tokens, which function like a rebate or discount coupon as these tokens may be resold to corporate buyers. Now we can economically incentivize purchasing goods that are good for the world.
