2 TECHNICAL SESSIONS PROGRAMME 6, 7, 8 DECEMBER, th November, 2007 Dear Participant, Corrugated packaging continues to be the most preferred and superior mode of packaging for safe transport of a wide variety of products across the world. Since it is our common goal to meet the needs of our customers in terms of the quality and function of corrugated boxes, the technical sessions planned during the 36th Conference will provide a tremendous opportunity for people engaged in the corrugated Industry. The Theme of this Conference is Future Perception & Global Perspectives. The technical sessions are tailored to present a balanced perception of theory and practice which include a wide variety of topics, cutting edge technologies, and incorporate new ideas and concepts that may stimulate additional interest involvement and educational benefit. One of the new ideas is the Motivational Talks by two eminent personalities, on the inauguration day, which will be a prelude to Technical Sessions. We have planned Four Technical Sessions. The First Session is devoted to the perceptions of the organized retail, which is revolutionising the way people shop. The corrugated packaging has to play a vital role in the all important supply chain management. Eminent personalities from the leaders in the organized retail segment will highlight the emerging opportunities for the corrugating industry. The Second Session is on Innovations in Machinery in the developed countries. We in India cannot afford to lag behind and need to look at these new technologies which will be useful and adopt them relevant to our conditions. Representatives from leading machinery manufacturers in the world will provide glimpse of the innovative technologies.

3 The Third Session is deliberate on the need to adopt a new approach to corrugated board manufacturing by bridging the gap between the conventional and modern technologies and reducing waste, using magical adhesives and laser dies. The Fourth Session Shop Talk will focus on industry perspective on the all important subject of costing pattern. It will also feature an eye-opener debate on the big question of Automatic versus Semi-automatic. During this session, we will also be conducting Productivity Survey. This year s survey form is enclosed. Please take a moment to fill up this form and submit it during Shop Talk Session. In case you are not able to attend the Conference, please post it to FCBM Secretariat. PLEASE DO NOT MENTION YOUR NAME, NAME OF YOUR ORGANIZATION OR SIGN THE FORM. We all need to take a new approach in our manufacturing methods. The time has come to cross over from traditional to modern.
