3 Invitation from the President The Sutherland Shire Business Chamber (SSBC) is embarking on a journey to work with businesses from across the region who are interested in maximising their brand and extending their market exposure. The Chamber s Supporters Program is an ideal way to position your brand to target local business with your marketing message. We have an active database approaching 1000 local business people and host approximately 12 events a year specifically designed with the business community in mind. We have partnership packages ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, with each option able to be personally tailored to your specifications. By partnering with the SSBC over a 12-month period, with frequent and broad exposure, your brand will stay top of mind with our targeted business audience. You will also gain an opportunity to establish your brand as a responsible corporate citizen committed to the economic prosperity of the region. As a not-for-profit organisation, it is only through the support of our partners and members that we are able to lead initiatives to facilitate the growth of industry, support infrastructure development, and lead changes that drive increased business productivity, employment, trade and investment. 4 Who Are We? About The Sutherland Shire Business Chamber (SSBC) represents the interests of business owners across the entire local Government area of the Sutherland Shire. In May 2018, the Miranda and Districts, Menai and Sutherland Districts and Engadine Business Chambers merged to form the new entity. The SSBC provides an unprecedented level of support and representation for businesses operating in the Southern Sydney region. We are committed to building the local economy, creating jobs and shining a spotlight on business success and innovation. A stronger voice for Sutherland Shire business owners The SSBC enables a more efficient and effective way of dealing with the many economic and social issues that impact the Sutherland Shire area. As an entity comprised of former business chambers from different sections of the Sutherland Shire, the SSBC is able to deliver a cohesive message to peak bodies and government organisations giving the SSBC, its members and local businesses a loud and clear voice on the issues that matter most. Our Vision Surrounded by the Tasman Sea, Georges River and Royal National Park, the Sutherland Shire is an attractive area which more than 226,000 Sydneysiders call home. With the lowest departure rate of any Sydney local government area, according to the most recent ABS statistics, the Sutherland Shire has been described as Sydney s most loveable area. While it s already a great place to live and work, our vision is to boost the Sutherland Shire even higher on the liveability index. We aim to bring this vision to life by putting the Shire front and centre of government thinking on issues that impact the area, promoting local business diversity and driving economic growth in three key areas: Medical Precinct: The Caringbah Medical Precinct offers support, opportunity and benefits for the entire community, both now and in the future. Tourism: The Sutherland Shire s plentiful attractions and relaxed lifestyle present a natural connection with Australia s growing tourism sector.
