1 How SkillSurvey Turned Content Marketing Into Real Pipeline A Look at an Account-Based Marketing Approach Driven by Custom Insights from BAO Like most executives, Michelle Reed, Chief Marketing Officer at SkillSurvey, had multiple complex needs to address. Our team creates a lot of content ebooks, white papers, etc. and we participate in a number of events, Reed says. We get a great deal of interaction, but a chunk of it is from what many in marketing call content grazers, people who are just interested in learning about the space. Many times these are students. We re happy to have them consume and share content and join our webinars, but we don t want to chase them if they re not real buyers. NOT ALL LEADS ARE CREATED EQUAL. 3 LEAD QUALIFICATION How it Works 1 Delivery of Raw Leads SkillSurvey delivered 3,800 raw leads to BAO s Market Research Specialists (MRSs) for qualification. 4 Nurturing All lead insights now live in SkillSurvey s CRM database. Based on the details revealed in the profiles, each MQL was entered into a specific digital track for ongoing nurturing that would speak to their particular challenges. 2 Live Profiling by Phone BAO called through the leads to speak with as many prospects as possible to gauge their value to SkillSurvey, working to identify triggers that could indicate opportunity. These profiles revealed which organizations: Had active initiatives; Do high-volume hiring; Were purchasing HR technology; and Had identified challenges with talent acquisition 5 Classifying SQLs BAO determined that 74% of the MQLs met the threshold for SQLs. Removing the 26% of MQLs 26% that didn t meet the eligibility requirements provided an enormous efficiency gain. 3 Identifying MQLs BAO s team profiled 1,048 of those leads, uncovering key account details and scoring each one. 6 Accessing Qualified Leads Once the SQLs were identified, Reed combined that insight with the power of BAO s Appointment Setting. Using the profiles, BAO approached each prospect with messages specific to their needs.

4 BAO LEAD QUALIFICATION for SkillSurvey 3,800 Raw Leads Delivered 779 Leads Qualified (SQLs) Based on the profiles, BAO determined that 74% of those leads were qualified. 1,048 Leads Profiled (MQLs)* BAO connected live by telephone with 1,048 of the raw leads to create detailed profiles. 105 Meetings Secured (SALs) SQLs were passed to BAO s team of ISRs for appointment setting. *All MQLs are entered into the database for ongoing nurturing. Based on the intelligence from the BAO profile, each lead is entered into a specific nurture track that offers solutions relevant to their particular pains and challenges. 64% 105 meetings were secured. 64% of these meetings resulted in second sales activity.
