1 CREATING SALE EVENTS WITH PROMOTIONS MANAGER Create and manage special offers to bolster the attractiveness of your listings and increase sales on ebay.

2 WANT TO SELL MORE? When online shoppers have more retail options at their fingertips, buyer promotions can help you set your items apart. A compelling discount offer can mean more sales and larger average order sizes. This tutorial will show you how to set up offers that will appeal to your buyers. Promotions help you: Increase order size and revenue Merchandise inventory Gain marketing exposure Lower postage costs Promotions help your buyers: Easily discover items to purchase Find accessories and related items Lower postage costs per item Benefit from special savings

3 BUYER EXPERIENCE Learn how to create an engaging buyer experience by leveraging key on-site placements to promote offers. During the buyer flow, buyers see the actions they need to take to qualify for discounts and are alerted when there are additional offers and savings.

4 VIEW ITEM PAGE Your promotion is displayed prominently at the top of the page Some of the items that are part of your promotion will show in the module below your primary item. This is to help direct buyers to your offer page.

5 SHOPPING CART AND CHECKOUT ebay shopping cart Your buyers will see available offers in their shopping cart, and the actions they need to take to release the discount. When buyers meet the conditions of the offer, in-cart messaging confirms that the offer will be applied and shows the total discount.

6 OFFER PAGE Your offers page showcases all of your eligible inventory Buyers can narrow down based on their interest using keywords, categories, and item attributes.

7 ALL OFFERS PAGE All your promotions on one page When buyers click the see all offers link they are taken to an automatically generated seller offers page featuring all active promotions with additional links to your ebay Store and popular items.

8 GETTING STARTED Accessing Promotions Manager To access your Promotions Manager dashboard, go to My ebay > Seller Tools > Promotions Manager via the Seller Tools module Sellers without a Seller Tools shortcut can access Promotions manager by going to My ebay > Account > Marketing Tools. On the Marketing Tools left-hand navigation pane there is a link to Promotions Manager.

9 SALE EVENTS Items that you select by category, by SKU, or by item ID that also have a sales price treatment will automatically be included in the event. Items will appear in the offer page and will have links enabled to drive shoppers to this sale page. Tips for creating successful Sale Events: Merchandise related items among your sale inventory to ensure relevant items are surfaced to buyers when they are searching for a given item. If you have ebay or store categories of items that consistently have inventory marked down, consider setting up ongoing events restricted by inventory rules. Inventory in these events will automatically rotate as markdowns end and new items are marked down. When setting the % that buyers can expect to save up to, ensure that at least 15% of items in the event meet or exceed this threshold to help prevent bad buyer experiences.

10 SALE EVENTS Step 1 Set the sale percentage Click Sale event' from the left-hand menu Select your sale percentage from the drop-down menu Note: The sale percentage selected will NOT act as a filter for inventory in the offer. Any item with discounted pricing treatment meeting the inventory restrictions will be included in the sale event.

11 SALE EVENTS Step 2 Choose items by inclusion or exclusion Restricting inventory by rules Click 'Create inclusion rule' or 'Create exclusion rule' Follow 1 of the 2 sets of instructions below: Create inclusion rule Select to include items by: Whole store (All inventory) ebay category My store category Apply desired filters (options) Click 'Add inclusion rule' Create exclusion rule Select to exclude items by: ebay category My store category Only selected SKUs/custom labels Only selected Item IDs Click 'Add exclusion rule'

14 SALE EVENTS Step 3 Describe the items in your offer Enter an offer subtitle describing the items that will be included in the offer Preview how the offer title will be displayed

15 SALE EVENTS Step 4 Schedule your offer Create an 'offer title' for internal management (not visible to buyers) Let the offer start immediately or select a future offer start date/time Select an offer end date/time

16 SALE EVENTS Step 5 Add a picture for key site placements Add a picture to represent the offer on key site placements: Upload a new picture Select a picture using an Item ID/Listing ID Auto-select to automatically select an item from the offer inventory

17 SALE EVENTS Step 6 Finalise your offer Set an offer priority (optional) to determine which offers will be highest on the Offer Page (priority 1 is shown first) Finalise offer: Submit so the offer goes live immediately, or at the specified start date/time Save as a draft so the offer remains in draft mode

18 PROMOTIONS DASHBOARD Manage your offers Click on View to see your offer details With items in the 'More' drop-down you can edit, copy, delete, put on hold, or resume offers. (Options will vary depending on offer status) When editing offers: You may edit any field on offers in Draft or Scheduled status You may edit Offer Title, Offer End Date and Selected SKUs for any offers which are Active or On Hold Tips: Manage your view with tabs and a drop-down menu of offer types Click on the help button column header definitions To view the campaign URL from the dashboard, click 'More' then 'view targeted offer URL.

19 REPORTS DASHBOARD Track your offers Use the search box to quickly find offers Filter by offer type and status Download a spreadsheet of the report

20 PROMOTIONS DISPLAY LOGIC Items which qualify for multiple offers, will be promoted to the buyer on the View Item and Cart pages listed below.
