3 Sandro SANDRO LEOPARDI General Manager An Italian who, touched by Colombia, decided he wanted to promote tourism in the country so that people around the world fall in love the same way. After graduating in Business at the LSB Business school in Dublin (Ireland), Sandro then worked for several multinationals such as IBM, British America Tobacco and Almaviva, as manager of innovation and new projects, in different countries such as Venezuela and Italy. After arriving to Colombia, 7 years ago, he created the inbound tourism company which recently was named Macondo DMC. With over 6 years of experience in tourism in Colombia, Sandro and his team have established strong and lasting partnerships with important Tour Operators around the world, such as Gate One Travel, Big Five and Odysseys Unlimited in USA, Meyers Weltraisen and TUI in Germany, Imagine Latin America from England, Ruta40 in Italy, GrandTour of Japan, among others. Lorena LORENA TORO Meetings & Incentives Manager She studied advertising and marketing in Medellin (Colombia), and is passionate about the arts and the creative world. She has worked in different disciplines ranging from sales, graphic design, photography, marketing and events production. Her first company was created in Bogotá, a printed magazine of fashion and creative trends that also gave her the opportunity to confirm her passion for the world of events, creating thematic meetings, with over 700 guests, for sponsors like Adidas, Casio, Trident, among others. Two years ago, Lorena joined Macondo DMC to create the department of meetings and incentives with immediate success, with clients who have entrusted the development of events and incentive trips for brands such as Sanofi, Takeda, Kaspersky, Scania, Abbott, and important corporations and institutions such as MCI Brussels and the European community (Europol) with their training and other meetings.

6 F.A.Q When deciding to include Colombia into your offering and when selecting your partner to help you on this, there are some questions which you would probably ask: WHY VISIT COLOMBIA? Colombia, for many, is a new destination. Travellers have visited most Latin America countries and are waiting for the right opportunity to travel to Colombia. The country offers a unique mix of cultures, landscapes and activities that will exceed most travellers expectations. WHEN IS IT THE BEST TIME TO VISIT THE COUNTRY? There are two main factors to take into account when planning a visit to Colombia. The weather and local seasonality and festivities. In terms of weather, the driest months are December to March and June to August. Local seasonality is mainly affected by traditional vacation periods like Easter Week, June (school vacations) and Christmas, on which availability of hotels and services might be a problem. Local festivities, on the other hand, can be an opportunity to experience some unique festivals and local traditions (see local festivities calendar). However, as most festivities are moved to Mondays, they are also occasions on which most Colombians will travel to short distance destinations within the country. IS IT SAFE? We cannot say that the whole country is totally safe, but we can surely affirm that all the destinations included in this catalogue, and others, are constantly visited by foreigners whose feedback, when they return, is always positive. However, we believe that it is our responsibility not to rely on personal opinions when it is a matter of safety, and therefore we do respect each country s travel advice. In conclusion, while we believe that most of the country is safe, we will be as strict as possible when providing our personalized advice to our clients, and will not recommend or organize any visit to areas not considered 100% safe.
