Installation Guide July 20, 2005 Price Setter Expanded Auto Price Levels v1.0 For Retail Pro v8.40 and Above Overview The M&M Price Setter sets inventory price levels automatically when the Inventory Price, Cost or Vendor List Cost is changed in inventory or by using Price or Cost Adjustment Memos. The Price Setter only affects Price Levels 2 x (where x is the number of price levels in the system). Price Levels can be set in one of three ways: based on Price Level 1, based on Inventory Cost or based on Vendor List Cost. In addition, the modification can generate price adjustment memos if desired. Price Level Calculation Set Up To set up how Price Levels should be calculated, click the MM Price Setup button on the Inventory List or Form view screen: MM Price Setup The Set Prices Setup screen is displayed: Page 1 of 5

Check the Generate Adjustment Memos checkbox to generate price adjustment memos. If Generate Adjustment Memos is not checked, then the price levels are set directly in inventory. An entry is displayed for each price level in the system from Price Level 2 on up. Editing a Price Level s Calculation To change how a price level is calculated, select a Price Level (by clicking on it) and click the Edit button. The Price Level settings screen will be displayed: Settings on this screen determine how the price level is calculated. Page 2 of 5

Set PL Based On There are four selections: None Don t Set, Price Level 1, Inventory Cost and Vendor List Cost. If Price Level 1 is selected, then the percentage change is applied to Price Level 1. If Inventory Cost is selected then the percentage change is applied to Inventory Cost. If Vendor List Cost is selected then the percentage change is applied to the Vendor List Cost. Percentage Change Add/Subtract Enter the percent that should be used when calculating the price. Click Subtract Percent to have the percent subtracted from the Based On value. Exclude Departments If you want items with specific departments to be excluded from the price change, check each department that should be excluded. Exclude Vendors If you want items with specific vendors to be excluded from the price change, check each vendor that should be excluded. Examples In this example, Price Level 2 will be set to Price Level 1 minus 10% of Price Level 1 unless the item s Department is B or the item s Vendor Code is ABC. Page 3 of 5

In this example, Price Level 3 is set to inventory cost plus 15%. No departments or vendors are excluded. Changes to the Price Level calculation settings are reflected in the Main screen: When all price level calculations are correct, click OK to exit. Page 4 of 5

Operation Price Levels are automatically set when the inventory price, cost or vendor list cost are changed from the inventory item screen. Price Levels are also automatically set when a Price Adjustment Memo for Price Level 1 is updated or a Cost Adjustment Memo is updated. THIS HAPPENS EVEN IF THE GENERATE ADJUSTMENT MEMOS CHECKBOX HAS NOT BEEN CHECKED. The checkbox only determines whether or not the modification itself generates adjustment memos. However, there are certain things to keep in mind: When setting price directly in the inventory screen, you must set the Inventory Price field and NOT Price Level 1 in the Prices box: Set Price here. Do NOT set Price Level 1 here. IMPORTANT NOTE ABO UT ADJUS TMENT MEMOS: If Price Adjustment Memos are being generated (the checkbox was checked), note that an adjustment memo will be generated for EACH price level that is changed. When the modification generates a memo, the Reason field is set to MMPrcSet. Page 5 of 5
