Summary Job Description We are looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager to drive the continued growth of our expeditions business within our UK team. This is an exciting new position responsible for spearheading the expansion of our core social enterprise in new territories, in line with our 2020 vision. The Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for increasing volunteer applications and conversions for our award winning non-profit ecotourism business, while also overseeing the design, development and promotion of new products and services to build upon our existing ecotourism and community-based tourism models. Reporting to the Head of Digital and working closely with the Expeditions and Volunteer Manager and team, this will be a full-time role based in Blue Ventures London headquarters. This role includes some line management responsibility.

2 The successful candidate will be a motivated, proactive and highly organised individual, with a desire to harness business and marketing expertise to help drive marine conservation and community development. We are seeking someone with a adaptable, entrepreneurial and pragmatic approach, who is willing to explore new approaches to building our business. Our ideal candidate will have a background in a sales focussed environment, with experience of creating and reporting on marketing campaigns to drive new leads. You ll be extremely digitally aware, a master of SEO, SEM, SERPS, PPC, CPA, CPC and a hundred other acronyms. You ll be well versed in the language of organic, referral or social traffic, and comfortable in analytics reports and more creative content creation tasks alike. You ll be confident to take responsibility for business development, and comfortable having a high degree of autonomy to make decisions in a fast paced and supportive environment. Responsibilities Marketing and communications Sales - Conversion-oriented cross channel marketing, including PPC and SEO optimisation - Coordination of Blue Ventures social media channels, working with the Digital Communications Assistant to refine, optimise and implement our social strategy - Explore new opportunities for expanding our reach and impact in print and digital media - Prioritise and coordinate volunteer recruitment events and similar opportunities - Create campaigns to engage former clients and volunteers to support Blue Ventures as ambassadors, fundraisers and individual donors - Update web content, develop strong and compelling copy, creating new landing pages and optimising sales funnels - Ensure a tight operational link between marketing and sales functions - Work with the Expeditions and Volunteer team to meet revenue targets - Create new ecotourism products for new geographies - Seek, explore and develop new opportunities for Blue Ventures to replicate our successful ecotourism and community-based tourism models - Work with conservation partners to develop sales and marketing channels for Homestay and ecotourism models Analysis & reporting - Report monthly on key performance indicators - Create analytics and KPI dashboards based on past performance - Keyword analysis and SEO optimisation - Benchmark our performance against competitors and implement PPC, SEO and content recommendations based on this information

3 Skills and Experience Required - Practical experience working in digital marketing and fast-paced sales-focussed environment - Graduate degree (or equivalent) in relevant field (eg. marketing, communications, business studies) - Proven experience managing PPC campaigns with Google Adwords, achieving targets and reporting on impact - Experience working with online marketing and sales CRM (Hubspot), digital publishing CMS (WordPress), marketing systems (Mailchimp) and social media tools - Demonstrable experience of social media strategy development, as well as use of advertising and analytics tools - Experience creating sales funnels and lead pages, lead nurturing and drip-content marketing - Demonstrable experience conducting market research to understand potential audiences, and proven ability to present results clearly and succinctly to inform product development and future campaigns - Proven ability to write and edit highly engaging copy for different audiences across online communications including ability to design effective marketing materials as part of wider brand and marketing campaigns - Fluency in written and spoken English - Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills. Desirable - Knowledge and experience of volunteer travel / expedition sector - Previous ecotourism, international development, and/or NGO experience - Experience developing and marketing new tourism products/tours, market research and feasibility studies - Excellent knowledge of GSuite, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite - Experience working within the Google AdGrants programme - Confident, strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, at all levels - Line management experience - Capacity to undertake research and development work independently
