1 University of London Job Specification Job Title: Department: Section: Marketing and Events Officer University of London Worldwide Student Recruitment & Enrolments Level: Level 05 Job number: T Job Purpose: This post will work within the Marketing team of University of London Worldwide to support and proactively input into the development, implementation and management of student recruitment marketing activities for the institution. In particular the post holder will take responsibilities for marketing events, as well as producing effective marketing campaigns to promote University of London Worldwide s portfolio of programmes, ensuring that key marketing messages are disseminated effectively to a range of audiences. Job ontent: Events management and delivery (45%) 1. Lead on the planning and delivery of student recruitment marketing events, and ensure they are organised, managed and executed with clear objectives, on budget, and to deadlines. 2. Take responsibility for purchasing travel tickets, booking rooms, commissioning exhibition stands and ensuring materials and merchandise are arranged and delivered as required. 3. Manage the virtual events platform and ensure that virtual events are planned and delivered at appropriate times across the academic year. 4. Take ownership of events promotion to ensure events are marketed effectively to their relevant audiences, whilst liaising with other colleagues within the Marketing team. This will include marketing, advertising and social media. 5. Lead on overall management of registration systems and ensure data is up-to- date in the marketing system. 6. reate and keep up to date website event pages. 2 7. reate bespoke PowerPoint presentations for use at student recruitment events, where needed, to help promote our portfolio of programmes. 8. Independently manage the participation of other team members, colleagues, and volunteers, in attending a variety of events throughout the year. 9. Train and supervise event stewards when necessary. 10. Independently attend events as a professional and effective representative for University of London Worldwide, and take full responsibility for the smooth running of events, using proactive initiative where unforeseen and time sensitive issues arise. 11. Track event sign-ups, responses, event attendees and subsequent applications to measure the impact of investment in events. 12. Undertake independent data collection for the evaluation of events and other marketing activities, proactively developing improvements to metrics and feedback systems, and produce reports as and when required, in order to inform and influence the marketing strategy. 13. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure events meet objectives, are aligned with overall strategies and are integrated into wider activities. This will include working closely with colleagues in the Global Engagement Directorate, the Student Experience team, Admissions, Registry and colleagues at Member Institutions. marketing And social media (40%) 14. Lead on the production and dissemination of original and engaging HTML campaigns, developing content which will meet marketing targets with prospective students and applicants. 15. Write/proof original content and source images. 16. Work closely with Marketing colleagues and in particular the ontent Manager to ensure that marketing communications deliver the required key marketing messages and accurately reflect the intended audience. 17. Write copy for paid marketing campaigns. 18. Work with colleagues in the Student Experience Team and Registry to deliver s across the student journey. 19. Ensure that enquirers and registered students are updated in dotmailer on a monthly basis. 20. Evaluate success of campaigns and develop solutions to increase engagement. 21. Help to ensure that marketing campaigns are supportive of the University of London Worldwide s strategy and wider activities across the University of London. Administrative support (15%) 22. Support the Associate Director: Global Marketing by compiling data and producing reports showing the impact of activities on student applications. 23. Support the Associate Director: Global Marketing in managing the marketing budget. Lead on raising purchase orders and checking invoices. 24. Support the Associate Director: Global Marketing with the administrative duties needed for the efficient running of the team. This may include arranging team meetings, taking minutes and other small administrative tasks.

Develop good working relationships with colleagues across other departments and directorates - such as those in the Student Advice entre, Admissions and Global Engagement - as well as teams within the entral University and Member Institutions. Help to ensure that marketing events and campaigns are supportive of the University of London Worldwide s strategy and wider activities across the University of London. 26. Liaise and negotiate effectively on cost and timelines for key projects with external suppliers such as design agencies and events companies, in order to gain the best possible service for outsourced marketing activities, while working within an allocated budget. Reports to: Senior Digital ontent Developer Additional demands of the role: Events management may include travel. Person Specification EXPERIENE & PERSONAL QUALITIES Events management experience. Experience of working on marketing and communications solutions, preferably in a service environment. Experience of utilising social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+ and Flickr) to effectively engage audiences.

4 Proactive, responsive and flexible in relation to meeting needs of external and internal customers and stakeholders. Meticulous attention to detail. Ability to negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent planning and organisational skills and able to juggle multiple priorities. Ability to work as a supportive and proactive team member, as well as on own initiative with limited supervision. Desirable: Experience of working in a higher education institution. TEHNIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a readily understandable way. Experience of proof-reading and copy checking. Numerate, with experience of budget administration. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Experience of using marketing software, such as Dotmailer. The ability to analyse and produce reports on performance of marketing activities. Desirable: Experience of working with ontent Management Systems, e.g. Drupal. Experience of producing creative, compelling and targeted written copy for communication channels (e.g. websites, brochures, blogs, or similar).
