Lack f status infrmatin n the destinatins f DRT trips, fr example weather related clsings and electricity cncerns related t dialysis lcatins, patients are nt necessarily aware ahead f time Paperwrk is a crss cutting prblem ne example is Cbb Cunty s paratransit eligibility applicatin, there is a Part B that requires the signature f a medical prfessinal, it can take a lng time t get a respnse, peple wh recently started t have a disability are left waiting Limited hurs f peratin f sme prviders d nt allw fr peple t get where they need t, fr example a service may perate 9 AM t 4 PM, this can be difficult fr peple with medical appintments earlier r later in the day, als fr yung adults wh are in schl There is a lack f a standard f service fr example different prviders and rganizatins will have either dr t dr (escrt frm vehicle t frnt dr f hme) r curb t curb (n escrt utside f vehicle) service, sme peple d nt have assistance t get frm the dr their hme safely t the curb, this presents a prblem Funding is a big challenge as the needs and target ppulatins grw Key Insights New ways f ding things and innvatin are critical paperwrk is ne big example Standards - The mre standards can be set acrss the system, the mre users knw what t expect What are the 3 mst imprtant things we can d t imprve DRT? Transprtatin is ne part f the spectrum f services that are available t peple, s it is imprtant t understand where it belngs with in the spectrum and als facilitate interpersnal cnnectins with mbility managers, riders, and drivers Vuchers are a great ptin and serve a need, but it is difficult t keep up with demand Recent retirees are able t use the incme frm being a vlunteer driver as supplemental incme All the service-related steps thrughut the transprtatin prcess have the ptential t develp a ne-n-ne cnnectin between the client and prfessinal, examples include mbility managers helping clients navigate transprtatin ptins and trusted drivers, can help build trust with the service Due t trust building, clients tend t stay within the same prgram/use the same driver fr many years Marketing by wrd-f-muth tends t be the best strategy because the infrmatin is shared between friends and family, this methd als prtects a limited service frm ver expsure t a wider audience that it might nt be able t serve frm a financial perspective What des nt wrk well t supprt general mbility services?
