1 Calypso TRV- (for the Nordic countries) Thermostatic radiator valves With presetting

2 IMI TA / Thermostatic heads and Radiator valves / Calypso TRV- (for the Nordic countries) Calypso TRV- (for the Nordic countries) Thermostatic radiator valve primary for radiators in heating systems and secondary for small cooling terminals. Key features > Stepless presetting Ensures accurate balancing. > Hidden presetting Eliminates the possibility of unauthorized manipulation. > Low flow charateristics Flow range from a very low fl ow up to standard level. > Low noise level Can handle high differential pressure which gives lower risk of noise. > Strong return spring High locating force ensures that the valve does not slacken off over time. > ouble O-rings Trouble free operation. Technical description Applications: Heating and cooling systems Function: Control Stepless presetting Shut-off imensions: N 0-0 Pressure class: PN 0 Max. differential pressure: Maximum differential pressure to ensure that the valve does not open against a closed thermostat: 00 kpa. Temperature: Max. working temperature: 0 C, with protection cap or actuator 00 C. Min. working temperature: -0 C. Materials: Valve body: Brass O-rings: EPM rubber Valve disc: EPM rubber Return spring: Stainless steel Valve insert: Brass, PPS (polyphenylsulphide) Spindle: Niro-steel spindle with double O-ring sealing. Surface treatment: Valve body and fi ttings are nickel-plated Marking: TA, country code, fl ow direction arrow, size and KEYMARK symbol. Red protection cap. Upper part of valve insert: Red Standards: KEYMARK certifi ed and tested according to EN. 0 Connection to thermostatic head: M0x.

3 Construction. Long-life double O-ring sealing.. Strong return spring in combination with high locating force ensures that the valve does not slacken off over time.. Precise regulating part for accurate stepless presetting.. Valve insert replaceable using the fi tting tool without draining the system. Replaceable insert The complete thermostatic insert can be replaced using the fi tting tool (with black handwheel) without draining the system. Noise The following conditions must be fulfi lled in order to avoid noise in the heating system: The maximum recommended pressure drop in order to aviod noise: 0 kpa = 0, bar. Flows correctly balanced The water in the system must have been de-aerated Circulation pumps which do not give too high differential pressure (alternative use a differential pressure controller, e.g. STAP). Setting The valve has stepless presetting which can be adjusted by the presetting tool ( ). The valve is delivered fully open valve (presetting ).. Remove the protective cap.. Set the required value using the presetting tool.. Refi t the protective cap alternatively fi t the thermostat head. *) *) Index

5 Presetting table Presetting values for various radiator performances, pressure drops, and system spread Presetting value at max. K P-band. Q = radiator performance ΔT = system spread Δp = ifferential pressure Example: Q = 000 W, ΔT = K, Δp = 0 kpa Presetting value: Tips: For an approximate determination of the preset for given radiator performance and system spread, an average differential pressure of 0 kpa is recommended. For systems that are widely extended horizontally, a differential pressure drop is necessary: eg, kpa for valves near the central unit, 0 kpa for valves at a medium range, and kpa for valves on remote radiators. An exact determination can only be carried out by making a pipe network calculation using the diagram, or with a calculation program. 0 T
