1 IS Grade F1 Technical Description : These are Fabric Based Laminated Bakelite sheets confirming to specification, as per IS Bakelite Sheets of Grade F1 are manufactured from fine weave scoured Cotton fabric. These Bakelite sheets posses good electrical and mechanical Properties and can be machined to a fine finish. Grade F1 Bakelite Sheets are suitable for small components such as instrument gears as well as intricate Machined items. Thickness of sheets ranges from 0.4 MM 150 MM. Standard size of Bakelite sheets: 1220 x 1220mm (4 ft x 4 ft) or 1220mm x 610 (4 ft x 2 ft) or 610mm x 610mm (2ft x 2ft) or 2440mm x 1220mm (8ft x 4ft). Bakelite Sheets are supplied as per tolerance specified in IS:2036. More closer tolerance can be met as per customers specific requirement. Available Bakelite sheet colors are natural brown, dark brown or black. These Fabric Bakelite Sheet Of F2 Grade posses a very good strength to weight ratio. The material of this grade has a superior machining and punching properties and better resistance of chemicals and is recommended for small parts. Applications: Shuttles, Gears, Pulleys, Automobile couplings, Structural parts, Spindles, Machine Tool gibs/ slideways, Low Voltage contact breaker, Friction plates, etc. Thickness of Bakelite sheets ranges from 0.4 MM 150 MM. Applications of Bakelite Sheets NEMA GRADE C: Include gears and bearings. It has lower mechanical strength than material with glass substrates, but has superior impact resistance when compared to paper based products. This material is not as suitable for fine machining as Grade L Bakelite sheets.
