Note: The revision notes are a summary of the changes and may not necessarily be a complete list. A risk code is entered for each revision and if applicable, the revision notes will describe how risk was addressed for the revision. Risk Code A Risk Category This revision is a minor change and/or introduces no risk. B C Risk has been addressed for this revision by the reviewer and approver. Low risk or no new hazards identified. For this revision, a PHR or other risk management tool has been used to address risk and minimize hazards. This risk assessment has been documented and is available through Central Engineering. Rev Revision Notes Document format and number changed due to Vale Engineering Document Program changes in Previous Standard number Rev. Approved for use in Thompson. Piping system approval requirements updated for Manitoba. Reference to SPEC-3003 corrected in Reference document section. No technical changes. 8 SPEC /11/0 /9 Rev 6 Notes Added some reference codes. Changed Pressure Rating to Design Conditions, added temperature range to design and operating conditions. Changed design conditions maximum temperature from 140 F to 149 F to be consistent with other specifications and changed operating conditions from 33 F to 140 F to temperature up to 140 F. The lb. was removed from Class designations per ASME definition. ANSI was removed from ANSI/ASME designations. Added ASME B16.11 and MSS SP-97 reference to Branch Connection section. Add full face gaskets required at flat face flanges. Added SPEC-3504 and PROC-3006 reference. Added inspection criteria per code. Clarified examination requirements. Rev 6 changes are applicable to any new installations and/or modifications to existing systems from this date forward. Rev 7 Notes Results from an investigation regarding an over-torquing failure of a Victaulic Style 75 coupling, the OEM states these couplings should not be exposed to sudden shock or blasting as in an underground mining environment. OEM preferred coupling is the Style 77. The Victaulic Style 75 and Gruvlok Fig 7000 have been removed from this specification and replaced with Victaulic Style 77 or Gruvlok Fig APPENDIX A: BRANCH CONNECTIONS Inches B R
