The image about water borne base coat felt by many people so far will be changed. Products Color tinters Metallic tinters Pearl tinters Special tinters Trace tinters Under clear Controller Paradis tinter Hardeners Reducer Gun cleaner Properties Environmentally friendly, low VOC Tremendous wettability, therefore closer feeling to solvent borne basecoat Providing smooth fade out area, easy to apply even in smaller area Recoating after dust area is easy. Provide excellent wettability by selecting the suitable reducer even under conditions of low humidity. Good mottling resistance by utilizing rheology control technology Fewer color variation during fade out or when recoating is done. Easy to judge the timing of the dust treatment and good sanding property. (mottling or sagging) Techniques for Take the flash off between coats. application Before overlap, flash off the surface until whitening disappears using blow gun. When apply mist coat after wet coats, the additional reducer is available up to 30%. (Excessed reduction may cause color variation.) When fade out repair is done, Use of BLENDING- IN LEVELER is preferable. Mix ratio: BLENDING- IN LEVELER Reducer Regarding 3 coat pearl application process 1. recommend the white color base to dry for 10 min at 60 or 20 min at 30 under high humidity or high film build condition. 2. When adjust fade out area of color base coat, if necessary, available to add the extra reducer. (30-50% to the initial paint) 3. Before fading out with pearl base, the special technique is recommended. Using the pearl base mixed with small amount of white color base, cover the border of white color base. 4 Precautions Process Precaution /Recommendation Reasons Panel preparation Recommend to use Polyester putty / Putty Surface Primer Apply "NON CROME PRIMER" on bare metal Preparation Use 2K URETHANE PRIMER SURFACER Film performance and Recommend to use the Primer surfacer of appearance is not sufficient appropriate L-value for each base coat when lacquer primer surface Primer surfacer is used. Recommend to "NON CROME PRIMER"- 2K URETHANE It can cause rust if color base was Primer surfacer on bare steel, applied directly on steel panel. not applying color base directly For black / dark colors, Paper mark is easily-noticeable Sanding Wet sanding (by hand) : P800 or finer in black / dark colors. Dry sanding (with sander) : P600 or finer For cleaning dirt : Use "SILICON OFF" and Fish eyes can be caused easily Degreasing / cleaning cloth (dry up with if solvent was remained. Cleaning air blow gun ) For wiping off dust : Use tack cloth Color matching sheet L card / OHP sheet / Plastic sheet / Coat paper Normal paper can absorb water easily and the color will be which have water resistance totally different from actual color. Masking tape / Use tape and Protecting paper which have water Protecting paper resistance Paint filtration Use strainers for waterborne paints Normal filters usually use Application waterborne glue and it may resolve in water. Agitate well right after diluting with reducer Additives in reducers can be Dilution of paint floculated if it wasn't agitated well. Finish coat and Adding extra reducer should be less than 30% to the It can cause color shift if more adjustment of border diluted paint than 30% of reducer is added. area Agitate well right after mixing It may cause insufficient agitation. Use air blow gun for drying after each coat Paint can be clumped together Flash off *Keep distance more than 30 cm between hot air and in the nozzle and cause dust if dryer and object spray gun was used. Dust treatment Use dry sand paper over P1500 (wet sanding is not Paint film can be soft when wetallowed) sanding. Evaporate water in basecoat completely It can be cause of popping, Basecoat / Clearcoat fish eye, gloss loss or insufficient curing if water remain. Make sure to wash a gun with gun cleaner after It can cause aggregation inside Gun cleaning washing it with tap water the gun if it was directly washed Cleaning / by solvent. Waste Keep waste paint and cleaning water in a plastic Waste water container as waterborne waste / Waste paint * Dispose of them as industrial waste according to each regulation. Keep the temperature at 5-35 degree C in storage It might cause dust because *Use warehouse with heater when needed water in basecoat was separeted *Make sure to agitate paint well before using and get thicker if paint was frozen Use cups or bottles for waterborne paint It can cause rust if the cans are not for waterborne paints. Paint Storage Do not use deformed cans for tinters It can cause rust because coating in the cans came off if paint was agitated in deformed cans with agitator cover. Use agitator cover for water borne paint It can cause rust if the agitator cover is not for waterborne paints. Use paint after wiping off the paint left on agitator It might cause dust if the dried cover paint was mixed because it won't disolve again. Use tinted color or diluted color without keeping It might cause color difference them for a long time (Use them in a day basically) and dust. 4 / 7
