4 SYNTHETIC FIBER SPINNERETS SPINNERETS FOR WET SPINNING Wet spinning is used for polymers that need to be dissolved in a solvent first. The spinneret is immersed in tanks containing the solvent into which the filaments are extruded. Acrylic, vinyl, rayon are produced by this method. Furthermore, Carbon Fiber can also be produced by this process. Carbon Fiber is a fibrous carbon material and can be classified into PAN-based, pitch-based and rayon-based. Among them, PAN-based carbon fiber is in the largest production and best used in volume. PAN type carbon fiber, which makes up 90% of the total market, is produced by carbonization of PAN precursor (PAN: Polyacrylonitrile) and has high tensile strength and high elastic modulus. Actually, Carbon Fiber can be produced by both wet and dry-wet spinning methods. Wet spinning is more common. The spinneret is submerged in a chemical bath and when the filaments emerge, they precipitate from solution and solidify. 6 SYNTHETIC FIBER SPINNERETS SPINNERETS FOR DRY-WET SPINNING Carbon fiber produced by the dry-wet spinning method generally has higher tensile strength and elastic modulus than its wet spinning counterpart. As a result, it s extensively used in structural material composites applied in aerospace and industrial field. In dry-wet spinning, the filaments first pass through air and then are cooled further in a liquid bath. 11 SPINNERETS Product Catalogue Spunlace Filter Filter is made of multi-layers of stainless steel and various alloy mesh. It is manufactured by combining fine mesh of uniform and precise pore size together with several layers of protecting and reinforcing meshes. This is then sintered to obtain an integral metal structure. It ensures high precision filtration where even high or low temperature, high pressure and corrosive conditions have to be contended with. And filter has durability. As it is of surface filtration type media, this filter can be cleaned and recycled with ease. No migration of filter media due to high quality sintering process. 12 SPINNERETS FOR NONWOVEN / NONWOVEN EQUIPMENTS MELT BLOWN / SPUNBOND / T-DIE Melt Blown / T-DIE MB is a one-step process in which high-velocity air blows a molten thermoplastic resin from an extruder die tip onto a conveyor screen to form a fine fibrous and self-bonding web. 14 Spinnerets Cleaning Equipment Cleaning equipment for spinnerets and strip jets / S-BACK N detergent for cleaning spinnerets and strip jets Ultrasonic cleaning equipment In order to create cavitation efficiently, we degas the water. There is much air in the solvent (maybe alcohol, or other liquid you use to wash spinnerets). Too much air will bother the cleaning process. Traditional way of spinneret cleaning is to use heat treatment or triethylene glycol. However, as the variety of the additives to the polymer increases, it becomes harder to wash all the spinnerets cleanly, especially the inside of tiny holes. The way of spinneret cleaning process is changing. Detergent S-BACK N makes solution to your requirement.
