The membrne shll be pplied wihin he emperure rnge recommended by he mnufcurer, o he clen, ck coed concree deck, so s o form uniform film hving hickness of 5 ± 1 mm. Meril shll no be pplied o he membrne surfce o remove he ckiness prior o insllion of he proecion bord. The proecion bords shll be plced wih ll edges overlpping 12 ± 6 mm. The proecion bord edge shll be wihin 6 mm of ll curbs, vericl fces of drins, nd vericl fces of expnsion joins. Proecion bords shll be plced such h he joins in he direcion of rffic flow shll be sggered minimum of 150 mm. Tck co meril shll be pplied o he proecion bord cover wih pproved equipmen which will provide uniform pplicion he required re. The proecion bord shll be dry nd clen when he ck co is pplied. The ck co on he proecion bord shll be plced jus sufficienly hed of pving o llow for curing. The dilued ck co meril shll be pplied he re of 0.5 l/m 2. Pving equipmen shll no be permied upon he ck co unil i hs fully cured Form nd Fill Grooves Generl Where ho mix sphlic concree is crried direcly over expnsion nd fixed joins nd where indiced in he conrc drwings, recngulr groove 20 mm wide nd 20 mm deep shll be formed. This groove shll be mde by eiher dry swing or rouing, shll hve vericl sides nd shll be loced direcly over he join for he full lengh of he join. Immediely prior o pouring he compound, he groove shll be dry nd clened of ny dus or debris by n oil-free compressed ir je. Ckes of join seling compound shll be meled on he job sie nd shll be coninuously gied in he mechniclly gied heing nd mixing kele. The conens shll be coninuously gied unil he meril cn be drwn free flowing nd lump free from he mixing kele emperure wihin he rnge recommended by he mnufcurer. Pouring shll be done by he use of hnd pouring pos, mechnicl mehods, or ny oher mehod which will give sisfcory resuls. The pouring equipmen shll be designed so h minimum of ime will elpse during pouring operions nd so h he compound will be plced in workmnlike mnner. Shields shll be provided o preven he compound from being spilled on he concree curb nd on he newly plced biuminous surfce. Sufficien compound shll be poured ino he groove so h upon compleion of he work he surfce of he compound shll be flush wih he surfce of he pvemen. If he compound subsides o level below he surfce of he pvemen, second pouring shll be done. When more hn one pouring is required o fill he groove, succeeding pours shll be mde immediely.
